GypsyScy
I had preo-rdered so collected them from the local shop, but there is an advert in the Shetland Times detailing shops they are available in and it says there is a limited amount availble for re-sale as the were mostly pre ordered. Guest Anonymous
^^I would imagine they will be reprinting as fast as possible if there's a shortage.

roadrunner
Dey said on shetland news that there would be no reprints. Seems a bit strange when they are trying to raise money for charity. ?????
Njugle
Not strange, just the economics of scale. The reason for the requested preorder was to gauge demand and set a figure above this for additional retail. Printing cost revolves around volumes on print runs. The figure used for the initial print run would have been used to set the price on the calendar, it would require the same number again to get a similar price. Hence, if the initial print was 5000, it would require a demand of a further 5000 to get anything like the same price again. An additional print run of say 500 would require an exponentially more expensive unit cost than the first run. If you see what I mean. In fact any subsequent run would cost nearly as much as the first run, whether it was 500 or 4000. So, unless there was as much demand again, it would actually cost money to do a re-print, or a much higher unit price would have to be set. Or so I'm told. Njugle
That's kinda missing the point, from what I've heard I'm pretty sure some of them would have been quite happy to face the camera. (In fact in a couple of shots they are!) The mystery is a large part of the fun.
