tlady:- I tried to send it back but Amazon would not have any of it,apparently I had 90 days to send it back after I bought it,which I think is very iffy,It was from Amazon warehouse which is not an Amazon company they only gave me 90 days to send it back, they confused the hell out of me.

If it's only 19 months old I would go back to where you bought it!

If it's not even lasted 2 years it's "not fit for purpose"

Which wouldn't wash if the guarantee is say for a year ... what might work though is a suitably worded e-mail to the manufacturer stating that Samsung goods are meant to be on par with the likes of Sony these days and if you had wanted a product that lasted a short period of time, that you would have bought an inferior product such as Tesco's own brand (after checking via an online search that Samsung don't make Tesco-badged TVs!). This argument worked recently for me with Bosch whereby I told them if I had bought an Indesit, I would have expected that to break down but not a Bosch. Worth a try.

This household thought a similar problem to yours had occurred - turned out it was the next door neighbour using their remote and it was controlling our telly!

I just might do that first, thanks, will phone them later. I had the same problem with our last Samsung and that was insured, they told me to take it to Inverness to get repaired myself, they would not do anything, then they gave me my money back on the insurance. So much for being covered.

So no more Samsungs for me :( :(

fullerton101?:- Thanks for the link will watch and see what I can do, does not look too bad to do so far.

:D :D

No problem.

My TV had the clicking problem and I followed the video on youtube and fixed it no problems. The parts were just 80p.

I had to buy a soldering kit as well but that only cost a fiver, much cheaper than sending it away.

If you take the screws out and have a look you should be able to tell if the capacitors are blown, they will be bulged out on top with black fluid leaking out.
