  1. If this was the case then the biggeted fools should have left the plane and not the other way around.
  2. (**Moderator Edit - The following links to some VERY risque material which may be considered offensive.**) http://www.myspace.com/kuntandthegang

    Brilliant!! Thanks for the link.
  4. It is brilliant! Such a good concept. Did you see the one with the little girl who had the voice of Boris Johnson?
  5. I love neds. They really are funny. In my flat last year there were three neds and it was great to listen to them get stoned on 'lungs man' then spend the rest of night taking the piss out of each other 'you're a pure dick man', 'gonna jib ye ya muppet', etc etc. It's really funny when they fight with their girlfriends too - in the middle of Princes Street especially. Another funny thing to do is if you smoke, walk down any busy town/city street in scotland and take out a fag and light it up. Soon you will be swarmed with the pesky little sods saying 'gees a tab man', then say you have none, or tell them to F-off while blowing the smoke in their face and see how upset they get. The more neds in Shetland the better I say!! www.glasgowsurvival.co.uk
  6. Yup, we had so much fun last week they have asked us back again. This could be the last one until Christmas time too so plesae come along, get drunk and lend us your ears. It's all free too. Jack Sandison, Jordan Ogg and Jimmy Quinn will be joined by David Sjoberg on guitar and Murray Arthur on percussion. love Jordan xx
  7. Monty's is great, and usually have a Veggie option. Tis' very expensive though. The Peerie Shop make their soups with Veggie stock (i think).
  8. I'm going to vote SNP solely because they say they will abolish student loans and bring back grants.
  9. Arguments against cinema that are formulated from audience figures alone entirley neglect the artisitc, social and cultural value of cinema. Large audience figures = profits, and in the case of the films seen in UK these profits go to America. And so Hollywood spends millions churning out another blockbuster, usually bland and mundane, lacking any depth, character, expression, symbolism and many of the other qualities that can make cinema truly special. Cinema allows us to commune, to laugh and to cry together, to discuss and share an experience - whether we 'loved' the film or not. In France and throughout Europe cinema is rightly known as the 7th art, if only we in the UK could share the respect that people on the continent do for cinema we might be a little more happy.
  10. Funky! I likes it. Podsafe music looks like another great way to music out there so I've signed up and put 6 tracks on. Thanks Hambone
  11. I think that pupils are finding it harder to pass the traditional subjects like English with good grades. I blame the instant society we live in today: mass culture, the internet, txt messages etc. I think grammar standards have fallen a great deal recently too. Here is a good essay on grammar by George Orwell that has helped me very much: http://www.netcharles.com/orwell/essays/politics-english-language1.htm I'd like to rant about the University system. I've just finished 1st year at Napier (ok not the Country's best) and I worked really hard to pass my exams. I got good pass rates, but at the end of the day they counted for nothing but a path into 2nd year, even if merits were awarded. The pass rate is only 40%, so all the students who did nothing but get hammered all year still managed to pass by doing sausage all really. I think it's the same for second year too, so I'm going to be in the pub a lot more this Winter!
  12. A zoo keeper, but now i think zoos are wrong. Maybe a ranger on a conservation park or something nowadays.

http://www.scotloads.co.uk A great new service for Scottish bands and musicians who want paid for their music. Check out the link above. http://www.scotloads.co.uk/artist.php/Jordan%20Ogg/ (to buy my music!)
  14. 'Heart of Darkness' by Joseph Conrad. Pretty grim stuff but very good nonetheless. It's got lots of words that I don't know so I'm reading it alongside a dictionary, which is good cos you get to learn lots of new stuff. Anyone else here read it? I'm studying it for my degree so any opinions would be helpful
  15. Busking was fun! But I've lost my voice today. Brian - next one is 8th September. But we may get one in August if there are any cancellations at Baroc. Thanks to everyone for coming, it was a great night indeed!
  16. Just a quick reminder to everyone that the second Acoustica is being held at Baroc tonight from 9.30pm. The last one was a great success and everyone went home very happy. Tonight 5 acts are playing throughout the evening so please come along and join us. Confirmed: Jack Sandison & Vicky Gray Sven McAlpine Jimmy Quinn Kennedy Stewart & Adam Bissett Jordan Ogg *EP Launch* And all for free!
  17. I just read the article and my only reaction was that of laughter.
  18. I love Neil Diamond so yes please!
  19. Just to let people know... Jimmy Quinn can't make it to the gig on Friday. It seems our resident crooner has been too tempted by the Glasgow sunshine to come back home in time! But not to worry, Jack and I will be able to keep you entertained for the night, and may also have one or two guests along to sing a few songs. Also, if there are any singers there on the night, you are more than welcome to get up and have a tune. Hope to see you there. Jordan
  20. I like her column, and it's far easier to read than a pretendie Shetland vernacular thats for sure!
  21. It should be starting at 9pm, with each act doing a half hour set on rotation until they kick us out! lol Jordan
  22. I think ending the weekly stramash at the halls is one of the main reasons for the demise of live bands up here. It gave new bands a chance to play to an audience regularly and in turn gave fans of live music somewhere to go. I loved going to the halls as a teenager, it was almost like a right of passage. Maybe this is why the youth of today are throwing cakes around? Cos they don't have much else to look forward to.
