    But what I would add is that life is now so fast and pressurised that it's no wonder there's an increase in depression or depression related symptoms. I also detect that we are expected to sacrifice our lives for our jobs to the point where we are "living to work" rather than "working to live". oh so very very true, one coping mechanism breaking down in ever so many people is coping with this bar steward system , the same kretin system that employs mental health staff to try n get you in bother wi the same stinking system(yep grassing you up), really really messed up world , any thinking reasonable person , especially a white single male of working age, has a bra braa lot to be depressed about

    I doot any outside body readin through the postings will pick up on the point that its the style of protest not the issue of protesting, the format as opposed to the principal. As a largely seafaring place its quite worrying to think these people are as foolish as to challenge the elements and the sea more so as a multi national oil giant. Deep water drilling will happen with or without pods n skinny dipping (he widda widdered awa peerier as a pod i doot) and hopefully keep a few familys employed in a fragile ecconomy such as ours, lets face it , if it wasnt for the oil hollyrude would let us starve

    Yes, absolutely. In fact, perhaps we should remove the right to protest from anyone who doesn't agree with us. That would sort out a few of these 'wishy-wash liberals' and their wishy-washy direct action. Send them home! They should voice their opinions anonymously on an internet forum like a normal person. Then we'd live in a better country. i think you will find the legislation on protests ,strikes n the likes is very tight, even a misplaced idle threat can land folk in the shtie, no harm to protesting but this is sheer waste of time n rescue services valuable funds Yes, sorry. I was being a little bit sarcastic. By the way, how much time and money do you think this protest is costing the rescue services, considering they haven't actually had to do anything except answer questions from journalists, so far as I'm aware. realistically , distracting the police likely has cost a bit, distracting the coastguard too, every penny of which will be costing us, never mind the £1000 plus per hour when the coastguard helicopter has to go to them. Fair play to the basic principal of protesting and freedom of thinking , but this is rediculously futile gesture

    ^^ everybody wants oil , n shetland as whole needs oil , what do you think the power station runs on? , greenpeace is a totally toothless tiger wasting time n costing money, hindering police and causing concearn to rescue services, bans n writs are dished out in lerwick sherriff court like sweeties on the most paltry of things , surely something can be done about this pointless spectacle because they are going to drill anyway

    choosing to travel without overnight accommodation quite a lot of folk cant afford the overnight accomodation and quite a lot of folk wont sleep sitting up, which makes the subsidised basic fare unappealing and a bit of an ordeal, or is that the idea ?
