Fjool
So I found a poorly hedgehog this evening. Didn't fancy leaving him (or her?) to die beside the road, so I took him home and he's now in a box in the corner of the room. Put some water and cat-food (thanks, Elma) in there. Hopefully he'll get his strength back. Found some useful links on looking after them: http://www.hedgehogcare.org.uk/http://www.napak.com/caring_for_hedgehogs.html
Frances144
I have my St Tiggywinkles book for all my hedgehog nursing care advice. Invaluable information. Good luck with your hedgepig! They are lovely animals. When I lived at Lunna, I rescued one and he was called James. He was a keen escape artiste and one day I found he had gone from his box. I didn't find him for a few days but knew he was somewhere in that huge house as I could see "evidence". I was all alone (kids gone to school) and putting the washing in the machine, when I heard snoring. I pulled back one of the cupboards to find him wedged in, happily asleep, snoring away! He went back in the box. Fx
Fifi
What should we find in the garden last night but a hedgehog! A tale about a former doctor here quite a number of years ago. He was apparently seen running down the road from his house to the beach, barefoot, with a hedgehog on a shovel. When someone stopped him, he said he had to hurry to get it back to the sea.. DamnSaxon
Don't want to worry you, Fjool, but I heard somewhere that hedgehogs die if separated from their fleas. Plus, I remember from my own schoolboy experience that these tend to be a little on the numerous side of comfortable. But a week on, I'm sure you know all that.
