stilldellin
Google N25Y for more pics, word on the street is he mite show aff a bit when he goes. Great, any news on when, or do we have to listen out for the Allison V12's bursting into life ?
gafynandrew
There are quite a few restored flying airframes left but not many are vintage World War 2. Did the Glacier Girl not crash at an airshow some years back? I love seeing these old ladies in the air, same with the Spitfires, Hurricanes, Lancasters and Mustangs.....In short, anything with a Merlin/Griffon engine. They sound like nothing else
stilldellin
I wander if when posting photos they could be resized to fit the page, I do not have the best sight and have to enlarge the letters a little bit. Which means when a photo is put on the screen it no longer fits my monitor, I have to scroll to read, then I give up!! The forum guidelines recommend restricting images to no larger than 800x800 and the advice for posting images is no larger than 640x480 so hope answers your question. stilldellin
She's out of the hanger, done an engine run and getting ready to roll :-http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb479/beenister/p-38depart.jpg
DizzyKipper
Saw it about to take off on the webcam. Looked out of the window and it took off - much faster than I expected! Then it looped to the north and back to the airport where it looked as though it did something acrobatic? Then I couldn't hear it any more

Thank you to all those who have put up some fantastic photos on the site. Cheers, just glad the thread has been appreciated and thanks to " Crieffy " for joining in with the " quality " stuff ! Only disappointment for me ( besides no getting ower da fence ) was that the Allison engines did not have the growl of the Merlins !
