  1. While I was working in Australia I wanted to put in a local sim, I asked the Auzzie vodafone to unlock my uk vodafone contract phone, they couldn't but they did tell me that it was illegal to have the phone locked to a contract and when I get home to go to a vodafone store and demand it unlocked. Which I did in Aberdeen and they unlocked it without charge, as soon as I mentioned wanting to talk with the boss?.. I don't know the ins and outs of it but that worked for me..

  10. sorry Njugle you need tae ae a good head on tae read yon fishing rights, but what i get from it is unless theres a protection order brought out buy the RSPB and in the case of Benston shetland anglers then anyone can fish these lochs with the land owners permission????
  11. ok tell me this. if a web site that many tourist might visits, states that to fish trout in shetland requires you to buy a permit. is this not fraud???? surly many lochs in shetland are still covered by scottish law???? scottish law states >>>>Until captured, freshwater fish are wild animals. Once captured, the fish belongs at common law to the captor.<<<<<
  12. JimIvens thanks for your info can you tell me the story of Benston loch?
  13. SKATERBOY Now I'm confused If you go to the Shetland Anglers Association it states >>>To fish for trout in Shetland, anglers must first buy a Shetland Anglers Association permit. These are available in Shetland or from this website.<<< http://www.shetlandtrout.co.uk/permits.html So what your saying is under Scottish law the captor owns his catch.
  14. [***Mod Edit - Thread split from Blue Green algae thread***] well apparently the Spigge Loch belongs to the RSPB. How someone thought it was theres to sell i'll never know. anyone have any ideas on how that happened? Also if it is all above board what restrictions can they place on people using the loch?
  15. Well it says in the news blue green algae suspected in the Spiggie Loch. Anyone know if that affects the trout? And if you are brave enough to stand bags deep to catch one, can they be eaten?
  16. Anybody know anything about Mining in shetland? I know about a couple of mine shafts down at the southend, and was told as a kid never to go near them, with all the fear in the world installed in my head to make sure I stayed safe. So now that I'm a bit older (maybe not wiser) I would like to find out more about the mines in our auld Rock........

The weather was good and the new accomidation block was set with no problems. The whole set up anchors, pick up lift, weld and leave only took 3 days. Note we picked it up off the Starboard side the engineers have to pump ballast at speed to keep an even keel. http://xs839.xs.to/xs839/09215/07052009679__640x480_709.jpg.xs.jpg Now on tow to Batam Island Indonesia for some light refreshments.
