  4. Well I'll be damned! I was just looking at yin this morning! Great minds and all that...
  5. With the introduction of Sheila's Wheels, and eventual demise of all car insurance costs for women, they'll probably all end up on the roads. Man will fear for his own safety, never venturing out of the house or anywhere near a main road. Then.... *Boom*.... Lik sheep ower the banks, all women drivers will cause a massive billion car pile up, leaving only the men. We'll last fir annider 80 years at best, afore all human life on earth comes to an abrupt halt due to lack of procreation. The wheels are already in motion fir this een.
  6. I dunna really understand this game....... http://static.flickr.com/62/170623464_d6665d8fa9.jpg
  7. It was indeed an impressive turnout. Wid I be right in saying there was about 700 folk yindroo?
  8. I keen whit du means. I have vague recollections of being recognised as 'Pool Haddock' on several occasions at the weekends. You likely keen wha you ir...
  9. I agree 100% with de Marvin, and I realised this when I read the article, but surely the best value guidelines would also apply over and above the contract criteria(?) Obviously correct me if I'm wrong.
  10. This is the line that worries me... I think it's an utter disgrace for any council officer to say this in any context.
  11. I wonder if the cremola foam story is right? I think I might keen somebody with an auld tub in their larder.... I wonder how much it'd be worth?
  12. ^ yin een wis said on this very page, less than 10 jokes ago.
  13. There's many ways around dy problem. Probably the easiest would be to save an avatar that has already been resized on another forum and post that. Or alternatively du could use Paintshop and just resize it in that. There's probably 100's o idder free programmes dat du can get dat'll resize photos fir d... anybody keen o' any free eens?
  14. Right!!! Is there any way you could post full blown flash animations, or is it gif only? Doh, it'll be a while afore I get any kindo graphical device tae plug intae my lappy i.e. a graphics tablet or moose
  15. Doh! I canna help it. I'm directionaly dyslexic. Also, I really was in Unst today, so it's obviously left some residual mental problems... and that explains the up.
  16. Has du tried any form of club? The theory is simple, give them a good clubbing. Annider way wid be tae start feeding them, and as they gain dy trust, slowly introduce fishing hooks into their diet.
  17. He he he... Cheers fir that PB, my page has had 5 new hits! I'm afraid I may have to take a sabatical from the Photo Wars; I'm doon in Lerwick noo fir a while, minus a graphics tablet or moose. I might be able tae reply on Sundays, or I might try tae get my tablet shipped up from glorious Yell. Yes, I think I'll do that. Did I read in another thread dat du wis injured Njugle?
  18. Free Northlink crossings and a Jimmy Shand LP? sorry How aboot getting a few Shetlink t-shirts printed, I'd buy wan. Dat way if you wear it in a pub and somebody else has een....... you could look awkwardly at each other for a while.
  19. Yeah, they were the blues guys! I was lucky enough to see them 3 times and each time I was totally blown away. And unlike all the other bands we saw, each time they came on, they played a completely different set. The guy on the moothie was outstanding. He sang instantly after playing a bit, without ever taking a breath and then went straight back to playing without taking a breath. And the thing was, he didna play it so that he wis in time we his breaths, if you see whit I mean (?) ie. he didna sook and blow at the times he would've needed tae fir the effect he was achieving. The moothie note was actually still hanging in the air when he started singing most of the time 8O Tim o'Brian was definately the driving talent behind their band I felt. Every time I saw them (tim and mollie) they played the same few songs, which did get a bit tiresome. Tim was on with a few other bands playing about 4 different instruments, and playing them very very well. And he had a fantastic voice. I basically agree we Wheesht's review, besides those few peerie points. oh, I forgot aboot Finneston. They fairly grew on me. Tae begin with I thought "yeah these guys are o.k." but I ended up thinking "these guys are great". I think it was thier lyrics that persuaded me. There's no denying that they were talented song-writers.
  20. Oh, how it irk's me! You widna say "Oh, you're from the Irelands, very nice" wid you? It's stupid and it annoys me and it needs tae go intae room 101. I reckon there should be some kind of punishment for even thinking it. "Oh James, you're from the Lerwicks and originally the Burras" There's only one Shetland!
  21. Apperently it's a "Gay Radar" so gays can find other gays. I thinks it's a bit like the ultrasounds that bats use to navigate thier way through pitch black caves and find other bats.
  22. I wis thinkin more o gettin an aulder een when the new eens come oot, that way, as bryan said, it'll be much cheaper. I'm not convinced by the new range of intel macs. Apperently a lot of the older software won't run on them at all, and some of the newer software is as slow as hell because it's run under emulation. Anybody keen anything aboot this? Have I been told a load o crap? I'll have tae go fir noo.... headin oot tae da folk festival.
  23. Any idea when the new G5's are due out? They're maybe out already? I've been keeping my eye on eBay fir portable macs, but the price has really been fairly steady. I've been lookin at the 14/15" screen models mainly, preferably with a 'superdrive'.
