Im with 3. they do have good coverage as they use the O2 network in shetland. good in towm exept hoofields area.

We are using rentokill traps at the moment. the Rodenticide ones but the mouse doesnt go near them. we have had the traps for a few weeks but they are still empty(':x')

We have a mouse in the house. does anyone have ideas about catching it?

I cant understand how the sheriff thought reliance could take a prisoner on the boat. On a flight the reliance officer sits next to the prisoner at all times. Surely the logistics of keeping the prisoner in the cabin for 12 hours when he could easily open the door would make the idea a non starter. If someone causes trouble on the boat they are put in a cabin for the rest of the journey and at all times there is at least one member of staff watching the cabin door. This takes a lot of man power (I know someone this has happened to). Also would northlink be willing to accomodate people on remand when they dont have secure cabins that they can use as a remand cell?

Personally I do realise that emergancy services do need to get to an incident in the quickest time safely possible. Although I dont consider the speed that they must have been doing up the hill to be safe when they could have driving safely and made up time out of town using "system of driving". Im no expert either though

I agree with you Styles. Ive Known a few folk in Shetland who have died and people have done this when they wouldnt have given them the time of day if they walked past them. I remember a few years ago, one guy died that had stolen a mobile phone from me a month before. Someone stoped me on the street and said "its a terrible shame" Im affraid I couldnt lie and agree with him. I had to tell him why. I still wish Id known that he was a relative of the deceased.

Ive always wondered if his last words would be "My fault, to close" But seriosly he did have the greatest respect for all wildlife, and it was probably enevitable that the work he loved would eventualy kill him.

I know micheal Black and he is one of the most easy going bouncers you could meet. I cant beleive for a second that he could have in any way have been at fault. One thing to remember though, this is Shetland. there will be several different versions of the truth floating around before the real story comes out. I was assaulted several years ago and remember hearing that I was on the ARI's critical list. That came as a great suprise to me as I was actualy at my mates in Lerwick drinking coffee!

Thanks tirvaluk, Ive managed to trace my family back as far as the 14th century and also discoverd Royal blood in the family. Wonder if I can get money from the royal purse for that?(':lol:')

The problem I would have with arming the police is simple, they dont always arrest the right person. Also over the years we have seen police in shetland that I would not trust with a rubber chicken never mind a gun! Dont get me wrong, I have nothing against the police but we do get a few power crazy officers coming up that think the uniform equalls them with god!

Just what we need, another political party promising the world! Oops sorry there only promising us shetland. Personally I feel theres to many different parties represented in shetland all offering similar things. at the last scotish elections Shetland could pick from Six different parties with half of them campaing on the same central policy!

Nowadays, those playparks are just too safe. I broke my collarbone on the ol' chute and it was brilliant fun. I didnt notice the above coment, Sorry Mario.(':oops:') So did anyone else get hurt?

Yeah I remember that chute. I also remember getting to the top of those steps only for some younger kid deciding he or she was to scared to go down. The amount of times I had to walk back down because of that! Can anyone remember if anyone got hurt on that chute? i remember kids crying because they slid off the end, but I cant remember anyone actualy getting hurt.

Ive not actualy seen a ghost in in the full form but i have been aware of a presence on a few occasions. On one occasion I was mopping a floor late at night when i heard crying. I looked around and saw the faint form of a young girl sitting with her head in her hands. I suddenly heard the word "lost" in my head. no-one believed this story untill a customer said that he had seen the ghost a few days later. On another occasion I was walking through a part of the same building late at night where I had been told there ws a ghost. Being sceptical I didnt believe it but that night I felt someone grab my arm firmly. there was no-one there and no-one near by. I do have more of these but as they come back to me il post them

I was a First Aider at the fort but only for for the last 2 or 3 years that it was held. I do remember that there was quite frequently drunk kids at the event, but dont remember us using taxis to put them to hospital. I do however recall calling out the ambulance service on more than one occasion though.

As one of the First Aiders from the fort I can assure people that we dont hire taxis for drunks. If they require treatment then they will receive treatment and appropriate transport where necessery.If the person gets a taxi then it by their own choice and even then only to go home. Sorry if that sounds a bit nasty.
