  1. Pray tell what inspired you to ASSUME this? What the hell are you talking about KOYAANISQATSI? This is my quote: I fail to see how this could be misconstrued, misinterpreted or twisted, even by your spectacular imagination.
  2. http://www.anorak.co.uk/madeleine-mccann/177198.html Pardon my French here mods but GOD ALMIGHTY I'M SO FED UP OF THIS BULLSH*T. Supposed "experts" popping up all over Europe to lend their "highly-respected" opinions to a news media desperate for more information WHICH DOES NOT EXIST. Mercifully not many people know how it feels to have their first-born child abducted whilst on holiday, so proposing how the parents "should" be reacting in the circumstances is INFURIATINGLY LUDICROUS. There has NEVER been a case of this sort which has garnered this much media attention (much more to do with our "24 hour news" society than with the case itself), so THERE IS NO PRECEDENT. Whether the McCanns are guilty or innocent, I would plead with tabloids, broadsheets and news networks - Please stop paying these "experts" for their guess work, which - like it or not KOYAANISQATSI - is exactly what it is.
  3. Haha, I'm sorry Baxter but this is laughable. The story I keep getting about Unst amalgamation is that it would mean "the end of football in Unst", which is quite frankly nonsense in my opinion. You said it yourself Baxter - "Compromise."
  4. That's not a long-term solution, which in my opinion is what should be sought/discussed on November 1st. No truth to these (ludicrous) Unst-combining-with-Burra stories then Baxter?
  5. That's not allowed since the SFA brought in the Players-Must-Only-Play-For-One-Club rule a few years ago. A discussion of that is a whole other topic. I don't have the magic wand required to resolve the situation being discussed here, but it's clear from the postings over the last few pages - and all the wildly differing suggestions for solutions - that Shetland football is virtually in disarray. When's the SFA AGM? In my opinion we need to keep in mind that their job is not to make the Shetland Football team as strong as possible, but to get as many people as they can playing football, all over Shetland. As things are more and more players are turning to the Works League, which I'm sure will continue to burgeon over the next few seasons, unless changes are made.
  6. What's wrong with a bit of belief? This is in danger of going way off-topic (especially considering this thread is entitled "Scotland 2-1 Georgia"), but the unbelievable pessimism of our nation with regards to our national team is breathtaking. Here are a selection of comments at the TV screen from punters at the pub last night: - "Look like you care for f*cks sake!" - "Barry Ferguson shouldn't even be starting." - "James McFadden - You're sh*te!" (<----- ) The same sort of things were being said at Hampden last Saturday when Ukraine pulled a goal back against us. We were 2-1 up on World Cup quarter-finallists and giving the players ABUSE for it! Absolutely incredible. If the crowd at Hampden on November 17th believes, then that belief NO DOUBT transmits to the players. Come on Scotland - Let's be SUPPORTERS.
  7. That's the spirit. It's not like during this qualifying campaign the squad has given us any reason to suspect they could pull off a shock result. Scotland just never win when it counts. Pardon? We're going into the last game of a group involving France, Italy and Ukraine with a chance of qualifying - We must have won some games when it counted. I dearly hope Hampden isn't full of miserable whingers like you when we stuff the World Champions...

    The Dons - Europe

What a performance - Clangers was inspired, Diamond was Anderson-esque, even Derek Young played well! Bring on the group stages... COME ON YOU REDS
  10. Since you enjoy providing the links KOYAANISQATSI, I've love to hear your response to this: http://news.sky.com/skynews/video/videoplayer/0,,91210-1286358,00.html
  11. Hate to be the one to break this to you, but here's a revolutionary concept KOYAANISQATSI - Quotes from newspapers are often abreviated, completely out of context or totally innaccurate. (SHOCK HORROR!!)
  12. Question for KOYAANISQATSI - Let's just say Madeleine is alive. Barring advertising campaigns (posters, videos etc), what do you suggest should be being done to find her? Or indeed any missing child?
  13. Ahem... Not even the week after the McCanns were declared "arguidos", and therefore legally unable to refute any of the (for the most part ludicrous) claims being made by the Portugueuse authorities, through the media? When you were quoting newspapers left, right and centre to the annoyance of most right-minded people? Come off it. It was a photo taken from distance on a standard resolution camera, the magnified images were too blurry to distinguish one way or the other. It was a young child with blond hair, who did look out of place with the others in the family - Any more than that was impossible to tell.
  14. Yes, I believe that they do - Wasn't that made perfectly clear when appeals for the Madeleine Fund began? Besides (effectively) printing posters, I thought that was the whole point in the fund - to enable the McCanns to stay in Portugal. Shame that the infamous photo didn't turn out to be Madeleine, but also a little disconcerting that it was a journalist from the London Evening Standard who tracked down the girl and her family, and not a Moroccan/British/Portuguese/Interpol police officer.
  15. So how wus it...? Bet der's a few mair sore heeds dan normal fur a Tuesday.
  16. The Fort, hands down. On a tangent, I'm amazed Ian's chippy is still in business - Their chips are horrendous!
  17. And what about the half dozen Yell players who are then left without a team?
  18. *cough*DAILY STAR*cough* I would severely contend this point. The demand for new developments in the current media environment is a large part of what made this case such a farce in the first place.
  19. There are definite parallels to be drawn here with the Unst/Yell/Northern Rovers situation - But let's not even contemplate starting all that again (especially on a "Soothend" thread!). Sufficed to say - It won't happen. Interesting to hear about the challenges faced by football clubs at the other end of the isles.

    Tabby Callaghan

Incredibly I sat through the whole thing. Well done to the guy and everything, but I would like those three-and-a-half minutes back if possible.

    Tabby Callaghan

I have no idea either! Anybody?
  22. No I could not afford any at the time. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That's GOLD! Cheerio KOYAANISQATSI. Am I the only one doubting this hiatus will be even shorter than the previous 13 hours?
  23. He's just explaining they intend to co-operate fully with the authorities - That it won't just be their word against the police. Couldn't he mean tests on the twins? Or on any of Madeleine's belongings? The car? You know you've got a strong case when an itchy earlobe is an integral part of your evidence. Talk about "making things fit". Christ KOYAANISQATSI - Did you buy the Iraq WMDs thing too? I'm not saying the McCann's are innocent, but damning them on the leaked "evidence" so far is irresponsible and quite frightening as a precedent.
