Unfortunately it is a part of growing up, he probably was in his parents drinks cupboard... they should do what my parents did ... and my friends parents.... mark the bottles, either that or have a locked drinking cabinet... There is another problem of kids nowadays not being properly supervised as their parents work all the time and they are left to wander the streets too much, and there in lies the problem and the mischief.... I got a drink after I was about 14 and it was a peerie glass o cider, at christmas with my parents...

They should be asked to move on then... but you get that everywhere, it is because Lerwick isnt really that big, I guess the kids have to have somewhere to go... and that becomes their meeting ground at night... as long as they arent pestering anyone then it shouldnt be a problem, its when they start with the attitude, that a severe slapping is required... The police SHOULD be making their presence felt though, and it is wrong if they are not doing so.... Right... okies well here is my take on this... I dont think cannabis needs to be legalised cause it shouldnt be illegal in the first place... I dont think that some people turning into vigilantes is really the answer... is it... ????? Sometimes it does more harm than good, and can only serve to put some maybe slightly undesirable people's backs up.. People will take drugs if they want to and it is a sad fact that there isnt really all that much we can do about it... what are you going to do, cameras on every road and street, watching everyones every move, sniffing every lit cigarette to see if it is a spliff... strip searching everyone including kids... (that was mentioned rightly so by someone earlier)... YES a world without drugs and alcohol would be more favourable, there would be less child abuse, rape, murder, and domestic violence... but realistically, is the disappearance of drugs and alcohol going to happen... NO... Boredom is a BIG FACTOR on drink and drugs, also depression and loneliness... There isnt enough policing to deal with it all... and being suspicious of people all the time isnt the right way to go about things either... just because they have a nice house or car doesnt mean to say that they are dealing drugs... I dont agree with drugs, I think that they are distructive... especially extasy, heroin, speed, cocaine... acid... Cannabis... is not destructive.. although I dont smoke it myself...jeez I dont even smoke now.. but I would say... if someone asked me whether I would like to sit in a place where people are smoking pot or drinking.. I would probably say smoking pot... I have never heard of any violence coming about because someone was stoned... but I have heard PLENTY about violence, rape, abuse, drink driving, murders, due to ALCOHOL! .. 8O That happened to me in perthshire... I couldnt get a reception on my arial because it was facing the wrong way, and they wanted me to pay for a tv licence.. I DONT THINK SO... for what, so I can have the luxury of watching dvds, listening to cds, and watching video's and playing the xbox on what I payed good money for.... THE CHEEK! Hey Sparky... How did you manage to move to shetland... there is problems with finding removals companies to take our stuff over to the island... there is a haulage contractor that is willing to do it, but then I am worried about insurance etc incase anything gets damaged.... so not sure what to do.... Anyone have any ideas...???????

I think the only good thing about buckfast is that you can get drunk and not want to go to bed... unlike a bottle of normal wine.. after drinking it I am tired... lol.. so I guess the monks had the right idea... although it is worrying that there is enough caffeine in it to re-animate the dead. I was told that there is about 20 cups of coffee in the one bottle. Has anyone ever experienced any INTERESTING side effects????? LMAO.... go on .... TELL US....
