A couple I know went to the co-op and as they went around the Isles the wife was picking stuff fae the shelves and another woman close by doing the same thing. Pals wife then bends down to get something off the shelf and lets a quite one away. Hubby gets a whiff of this and says to the other woman " Jesus , you dirty bitch ! " and quickly moves away. Of course by this time the wife is in stitches but doesnt tell him it was her until they are out in the car park !

With all the concerns about global warming and why we are being penalised with higher car taxes ect , why are so many airlines free to order more and more aircraft with the resultant increase in high atmospheric pollution , and apparantly without the same restrictions as we motorists are going to have to bear ? Also why isnt aviation fuel subject to similar taxation as road fuel ?

Maybe so maybe no. It just bugs me when people who come here expect us to change the lingo we use to suit them , whilst if you went abroad you would be expected to learn the language of that particular country. Its got nothing to do with being an "ambassador".

Well thats a big assumption to make as no one can predict the actions of others. And I suppose the truck driver attempting to enter petersons yard didnt predict a police car blocking the entrance either , which again caused an accident. And what of the motorway policeman in court recently in Scotland for doing 159 mph claiming he was just "honing" his driving skills ? Well if any of us wish to do this then we have to go to a racetrack or similar not on the public road. And what penalty did he get....no points , still kept his job , dont think even a fine , what kind of example is that to set ? Yes there are some horrendous drivers up here and a few of em are affiliated with the local plod.

No you are quite right Fjool , I think that this has been blown out of all proportion by the media as usual , BUT its not so long ago since people lost out on billions on private pensions and before that the maxwell affair , So maybe we have a legitimate reason not to trust. Also whenever something like this goes tits up it seems to take people forever to get a settlement from organisations set up to do this and are made to jump through all kinds of hoops to get what is rightfully theirs. Maybe Im wrong but I would be concerned if I had money in Northern Rock.

Yeah , and its only about 10 years since they spent hundereds of thousands on it , which begs the question , is it worth it ? I dont think so. And after only 10 years should another £600.000 have to be spent on it and if so why ? With modern construction tech / materials shouldnt it have lasted a lot longer before needing another fortune spent on it ? These arrogant toon hall dwellers that think this is a good investment when they are supposed to be trying to save money really need to get a grip. How can they expect us to take seriously the never ending cooncil tax rises and expect us to pay it then go and waste the money on a peice of old sharn like this.
