Is yun right?

Recommended Posts

Do you believe everything you read! It is of no business to any of us unless you wish to know where it is, how to contact whoever. CCTV will catch them if they illegally solicit in the centre of Lerwick and it is citizens living in shetland that cause trouble, not workers from south. Ghostrider I will not give you an explanation as you wish everyone to do, for the precise reason that you do not give a reason for your posts - read the shetland times for the same names over and over again.

Maybe midget does want to know!

No one mentioned workers from south either, What about the workers sacked last weekend after smashing a mans head through the window of a car they were workers from south! What about the ones pissing in the middle of the mid brae on the floor and over peoples legs or super glueing peoples glasses to the tables and looking for a fight before walking around in the pub naked? Yes it's often locals causing trouble but it's also workers from south, Although not all of them, a lot of them are quite decent and out for a good time, A lot of people don't want to go out in brae now after peoples drinks being spiked if they do they are having to sit with a hand covering the top of the glass, i don't think that was a problem before!

There are many men and women who use them and it is as an escort. I do hope you are not thinking that all Escort Agencies are run for more than that, also, on this day called International Womens Day.

The oldest profession should be afforded more respect and not continually bashed by those of religious twisting that they feel the worst for any one caught up in this trade.

Alas, I can only assume it goes on in many sea ports establishments and beyond.

An escort is not necessarily a sex worker. Additionally, there is a vast difference between someone who is a prostitute who works off the streets to perhaps support a drug habit and one operating from a rental room/own home/high class end of the market.

Many countries have decriminalised prostitution, such as New Zealand and certain parts of The Netherlands. During the Olympic Games in Greece, the licensed 'brothels' had their hours extended to cope with the extra demand. Germany allows prostitutes to work but they are not entitled to full social benefits (health, etc.) but accept their earnings' calculations for tax purposes.

Some countries, such as Sweden, do not prosecute female prostitutes but instead fine the men, imprison the men and offer re-education to the female prostitutes and assistance seeking other employment.

In England the Home Office adopted the approach that if you were a woman from abroad that automatically meant you were a victim of sex trafficking if you worked here as a prostitute when this simply proved not to be the case when several properties were raided in Soho. The prostitutes I met when carrying out research when at university for an academic project were, in the majority, women working without pimps and to provide for their families. The only ones I met who walked the streets were drug users.

In Leith, Scotland, when I spoke to the female police officer who patrolled the experimental zone area, she stated that drug use had decreased as had attacks against the female prostitutes.

Research at a London STD clinic showed that prostitutes were less likely to have VD than Roman Catholic priests as it is in the women's interests to have regular check-up, practise safe sex and so forth.

In Amsterdam when I met with a sex workers union representative, she explained to me the tax situation, the working hours and, perhaps something many overlook, is the fact that the red light area of Amsterdam is absolutely heaving during 9.00am to 11.00am with the disabled and pensioners - many of whom facially disfigured and society shunning forming any relationship with them. Over 40% of their income came from such clients and the rest of their income was split between regulars and tourists.

An escort can be somebody simply accompanying someone out for a meal, it doesn't necessarily involve sex.

Maybe you should be telling this to the Times, as according to Shetlands "top" police officer, there has been no crime associated with the sooth workers.

Because of the huge influx of mainly male workers since the oil era began in Shetland there has been a large disparity between the sexes in the Islands. This goes a long way to explain the large numbers of mail order brides now living here. But it appears to be a bit of a taboo subject.

Why is this news to anyone?

There have been "escorts" working in Shetland all the time, after all it is a busy fishing port along with all the other services.

Has nobody ever heard of google either, for example : [**Mod Edit - explicit link removed**]

Not to mention all the local knowledge!!
