Claadehol
I spotted a bottle of Welsh malt whisky on offer in Tesco, "to clear" as they say. Perhaps it doen't sell well here due to the upsurge in nationalism!I have to say though it is as good, and in some cases better than the Scottish malts. Never heard of it before but it probably wont be the last bottle I pop in the cabinet.I know it's traditionally Scottish and the idea of this Taffy tipple replacing the original must hurt the kilted brigade, but it's not English so give it a try.I dont suppose the first lady will ever grasp a glass of this in her tartan talons, but she needs to loosen up and buy a bottle before her border fence goes up. Cheers!
MuckleJoannie
Wales did have a history of distilling whisky but according to Wikipedia it died out in the early 20th century. There is also the legend that Jack Daniel's took whisky distilling from Wales to the USA.
Colin
Time was when Wales was full of small breweries and, many also distilled spirits of one sort or another.. Mostly Gin I suppose but, I was "aware" (?) of others as well.

JustMe
Just for fun I was drinking Gouden Carolus Single Malt whisky from Belgium recently. And lots of strange places are making whisky these days. Scotland beware!
