  1. Its strange that Ghostie as Murder in Scotland requires wicked recklessness and murderous intent I doubt anybody who assisted someone to commit suicide in Scotland as the law stands could possibly be convicted of Murder Culpable Homicide however is a different question
  2. Priti Patel (brought in) Was not previously in government, now exchequer secretary to the Treasury Priti Patel joins George Osborne's Treasury team as Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, replacing David Gauke, who himself is promoted to Financial Secretary. The former public relations consultant has yet to serve in government and has rebelled in the past over the issue of an EU referendum. Oh you may be right there
  3. Yes and David Cameron just promoted her to a junior minister position
  4. If we allow this where do we stop it is a slippery slope that will be misused do we progress to euthinize severly disabled babies. Laws are usualy a progression but this is a progression to what we will die when we die as we have always done there is no need for a helping hand
  5. On Fair Isle our shop is more than a shop it is a tourist destination a meeting place and is as essential as our nurse cover
  6. Firstly Police do not report matters to the court they report matters to the Procurator Firscals service. I an evidential threshhold is met the person will appear in court If there are difficulties with the case the matter will be reported byt the Procurator Fiscal to Crown Office and Crown Councils instructions on how to proceed will be sought in any event cases such as these are controled by Crown office as Rape is only ever prosecuted in the High Court of Justiciary. So in short Ghostie is correct although the procedure is slightly wrong
  7. Em Rasmie they get a budget they don t have control Westminster are to interested in spending billions on HS2 and Trident replacement this is the whole point of the debate tackle poverty before anything else

  10. Yes Rex me to it either wont load or tries in install some flash plug in which is not coming from Adobe
  11. Robbie are you shocked at that. Look at the law on corroboration they were told and told but they hammered it through only to be told it wouldnt work by those that know and the very same Justice minister had to put everything on hold. How much did that all cost consultation after consultation with all the legal opinion saying it was very dangerous but hey they did what they wanted anyway only to be told that we would all end up in the appeal court They Just Dont' Listen to their own advice
  12. This is the kind of thing that should be investigated considering the later post about bed blocking due to lack of care packages I wonder how many are employed in transport balanced off against ferry crews etc
  13. For this topic to have any credibility someone needs to get a hold of the costs for the adminstration portion of key services. Ferry's what is the cost of say the non productive part of the service managers directors etc not the cost of the Ferry crews and fuel. Refuge minus the cost of the actual workers who lift the rubbish and provide skips etc what part of the budget again is for administration and management. Once this is known we will all know where the money goes
  14. Not sure about your figures but sounds like a plan indeed the first one I've heard that has some thought behind it but as I say not suree on the details perhaps you could expand on the Sullom or Total situation perhaps you could expand
  15. Thats no a bad idea but whats really funny and something thats not been thought of is all these boys that come up and work offshore and the gas plant etc would have to pay scottish tax so it won't just be the people living here
  16. I have experianced that Joannie I lived with friends just outside Letterkenny one worked in Derry one worked in Donegal they had no problems they shopped in Tesco in Derry paid in Euro's you were asked at the checkout what currency you wanted to use didn't seem to be a problem for them other than the tax return for the Derry worker declaring his income as tax paid in the UK
  17. If there is to be a problem I would be looking at a different currency if and only if there is a yes vote I think the rest of the UK might find their self in a bit of a mess
