I am extremely disappointed to inform any who haven't used the new roundabout at North Lochside that in my humble opinion I found approaching, going through and exiting it was a very dull experience.

I heard on Radio Shetland tonight that there are 550 people on Sickness Benefits/Employment & Support Allowance.  Is this basically the dole?.
 
Plus 90 on Job Seekers Allowance.
 
So, out of a population of 22,500 we have 640 on benefits alone?.

Or, is some of this people in work but recieving a "top up" benefit?.
 
Mind you, as somebody said to me earlier this year:  Minimum Wage> Minimum Effort lol 

I also listened to Radio Shetland yesterday evening.
 
The school will be open two days a week and complemented with home tuition.
 
Seems a fair compromise to me.

I am saddened to hear that, there are schemes in place to help, but it depends on your personal situation which we cannot discuss on here.
It is a catch many are in, myself included, I do not earn enough to run a car and enjoy the life I do now with my interests and hobbies, I am fortunate in that I can do without one and the transport network is better, but not as cheap. I also cycle which helps me, but cycling in Shetland needs dedication far beyond what I do.

The black bags are neither here nor there whether they supply them or not, but with all these "front line" cuts its getting to the point that you're tempted to wonder just what exactly it is many folk are now getting for there at least nearly a grand a year Council Tax. For somebody of working age, not staying in the town, doesn't have bairns in a school and doesn't drive, its not much.
