  1. If Richard Thompson comes up to play a gig, I will go. Other than that I can't see myself really using this facility tbh. I refuse to go to justify its existence either let alone spend a fiver on sweeties.
  2. What pray do you consider "a real herbalist" As opposed to a quack? Any herbal medications that have been proven to work; are now mainstream medicine, the rest are Quackery; designed only to deprive gullible folk of their hard earned. Your post disappointed me Poseidon. When I wrote "real Herbalist", I meant a qualified one. Your comment that any herbal medication that have been proved to work; are now mainstream medication.... is just not true. I went to see my GP a few months' back to talk to her about my problem and she would not or could not help me. Rather than go into the gory details on forum, all I will say is one big spinal operation pending + womens "things" = a miserable and worried Frances. I emailed my qualified herbalist who came up with an answer and I have also googled it to have it confirmed. I will give it a go - roll on the Parsley Tea! So, rather than being quick to damn everything you don't understand, perhaps a more open minded approach to this sort of science is in order. I tried to go down the conventional route, was turned away at the first stop and resorted to a different, but by no means quackery, method. I will let you know if it works.
  3. Thanks, Patzel. I have my answer now.
  4. If they want to save some cash, I suggest they turn the friggin' heating down in the Clickimin. I have just been to the craft fair this evening and the ambient temperature was about 80 degrees F. I have never been so hot. And maybe turn off every other light. The place is lit up on overkill. Too much, all too much and such a waste of this planet's resources. Good craft fair, though.

  7. Oooh, you are very adventurous, Crofter-Amy. I just keep the dried Dulse in a jamjar and munch on it. I am a bit worried about the salt content but it is very addictive!
  8. Thanks - I will start with Healthcraft and see who they recommend and then head further afield if no joy.
  9. No, I want to speak to a real Herabalist.
  10. Is there a herbalist in Shetland?
  11. American chocolate is filthy stuff. Tastes like dog chocolate (don't ask ) - Good Boys. Russian chocolate is worse.
  12. My OH raves about the chilli chicken ones - they are a bit like hens' teeth though.
  13. I do love Voe Pie Day! Yay to the chicken and cream sauce ones!
  14. I do hope Bod Ayre will soon start selling it for human consumption.
  15. Oooh could you? One Anglo-Nubian neutered lad aged 10 years. No horns, very tame and kind. One Toggenburg old lady aged about 18 years. No horns, very tame and sweet natured. Both easy to do.
  16. I think when it comes to your bairn's education, as a parent, you care passionately about their future and what effect decisions made by others will have theme. While it might appear as "hysteria" to some, what you are seeing is the "Mother Tiger" syndrome. I have this. I cannot stop it and I would do anything to see my kids are alright. Some bureaucrat sitting in his desk at Hayfield House plus the non-existent (already rather proven their track record) Councillors deciding where your kid is going to be educated does not really help one, as a mother, to think that my child's best interests are being met.
  17. Hmmmm.... thanks for that MJ. I hope they get one back. I don't like the thought of a 3 hour round car trip after £30,000 (NHS) of back surgery with the explicit instructions from my surgeon of no sitting for anything longer than 15 mins for my physio rehab.
  18. Why have they stopped coming out to the westside surgeries? Is there a shortage or is this "cut-backs"?
  19. Pity you saw nothing. They do exist, honest. I will take photos to prove my point next time. Thanks for the effort - appreciated. Your dog was very well-behaved too.
  20. Agreed. 4 fish suppers = £22 Cooked meal for 4 (meat, tatties, veg etc.) under £10 (Ok, a little more if you're extravagent). Definately a 'treat'. No Brainer. FWIW; Last time I was in Orkney I got a fish supper. Two large Haddock fillets, a huge tray of chips, a tub of beans and, a bread roll. £4.70..... Glad I am not the only miserable git!
  21. To the person who let them go wild to fend for themselves and breed, thanks a bunch. They have finished off my neighbour's vegetable garden (ate all the tatties) and are now circling mine with a greedy look. Anyone want to shoot them? feel free to pm me. They shouldn't be here. This is very wrong and irresponsible. I wonder what other damage they will be doing to the indigenous Shetland wildlife.
