  1. I hate it when the binding on books comes undone and the pages start falling out. It happened to my copy of New Moon as I read it earlier - I've only had it since January and just gotten round to reading it now Not best impressed. Additionally, as much as I've loved being able to sit in Kelvingrove Park with the lovely weather in Glasgow, I hate how SPF15 sunblock hasn't been enough to stop me getting sunburn on my upper arm that any boiled lobster would be proud of. Meanwhile, the rest of me is browning with a bit of a rash - not a good look. Even the aftersun isn't helping - I may as well be using melted ice cream. Of course, knowing my luck, as soon as I can get my paws on anything higher than factor 15, the sunny weather will come to an abrupt end...
  2. I'm off to Kelvingrove Park to soak up the rays
  3. ^^^ Fear she may have to do that from now on, doglover - the Horizons is shutting. Ah well - hadn't been there in years, won't miss it much now I guess!
  4. When my class - and indeed most of the years before and after us - were due to make the transition from P7 to S1, we had an activities day at Voxter House. We got to meet the other bairns from the other primary schools who we'd be in classes with for the next 4-6 years. While there were tamer activities, such as cooking, model making etc, we also got to do things like sailing and canoeing, which were great fun. The instructors made sure we were safe and kept a good eye on us - thankfully nobody was hurt in any way, and I'd put that down to their vigilance. I think we were all better off for having gotten to do those activities than for not having had the chance to meet and greet others before we started high school together. This was an unfortunate incident, but the outcome could have been so much worse, and it would be a shame if this were to put parents off allowing their bairns to do fun stuff like this.
  5. ^^^ I agree - big dogs tend to be quieter and more lovable creatures I find.
  6. He'll have to not call it the Shetlands first That said, it's fine that he's expressing an interest
  7. First we had mad cow disease, then bird flu and now swine flu. What is this - Farmageddon?
  8. Hello, is this the police?" Yes it is. How can we help you?" "I'm calling to report my neighbour, simon. He's hiding cocaine inside his firewood!" "Thank you very much for the call." Early next morning, police officers descend on simon's house in great numbers. They search the house and then go out to the shed where the firewood is kept. Using axes, they bust open every piece of firewood but they find no cocaine. They swear at simon and leave. The phone rings at simon's house. "Hey, simon, Did the cops come?" "Yeah!" "Did they chop up your firewood?" "Yeah." "Happy Birthday bro!"
  9. I have decided to produce and sell a strong alcoholic drink called "Responsibly" That way everyone in the country can get s**t faced drinking responsibly. And all the other drinks makers will be advertising for me on their cans with the slogan "please drink responsibly" Probably will p*** off the government as well.
  10. Last night I dreamt about a red octagon, with the word “STOP†emblazoned across it in white. I think it’s a sign.
  11. George Carlin, according to the calendar in my kitchen
  12. ^^^ Tee hee But MiM has a point. There's a lot of the threads on here that tend to have regular heated discussion, and while a good few of us are up for that, a good few of us are not.
  13. Were such a facility available I would not use it, but I would use an "Ignore thread" option, so long as it only applied to the "Latest Forum Posts" section. Removing the "buy/sell" posts was a big improvement. It would be nice to be able to similarly avoid seeing post listings to high traffic threads which I never read. That sounds like a plan.
  14. I became friends with my best mate through a shared illness - we both suffer from inferiority complexes. His is better than mine though.
  15. Oh you'd be surprised, Roachmill...
  16. Silent discos are awesome. I want to go to another one so badly.
  17. All of the posts from the following account: http://www.youtube.com/user/itsjustsomerandomguy
  18. @Ghostrider and @MJ It's funny you two should mention Lily Allen - I've been following her on Twitter and she's tweeted the following: "Listening to issues by the saturdays poolside, they do say "I don't know if I should stab you or kiss you" don't they?" "And to think I can't say " wet patch " on the radio." "I've just listened to it two more times, its definitely stab and not slap." There we go, make of it what you will...
