gayshetland
HI BDH. Steven has gone on holiday and probably might not know the site is down. He was talking about doing a total rebuild of the site so perhaps that is why the site is not available. There is a site on facebook if you are interested called Shetland Island Gay/Bi/Lesbian Group Unfortunately the site has been taken down due to low (as in almost) no usage. I had an advert on the front page for a month that the site would be taken down if it wasn't used more widely - there was no response. I didn't mind paying for hosting if it was being used - it wasn't. Sorry!
viblir
By questioning if Shetland is Gay friendly, does this implies that this particular sexual preference requires different conditions from the general herd? By setting up a separate web site for non-heterosexuals, is it not generating division where there was none before? By all means come to Shetland and be part of our community but please leave your divisive preduces along the way, they are not welcome! Guest posiedon
viblirBy questioning if Shetland is Gay friendly, does this implies Sic that this particular sexual preference requires different conditions from the general herd? Speaking as a happily married (37 years) heterosexual man, The fact that you think homosexuality is "a preference" should disbar you from further comment, a persons sexuality is no more a preference/choice than is your skin colour, your eye colour, or your hair colour. Get over it.By all means come to Shetland and be part of our community but please leave your divisive preduces (sic) along the way, they are not welcome! Are you really accusing a gay person of having prejudices? Really!
shetlandpeat
I agree with the gist of that

Malcolm
Is Shetland gay friendly? Hmmm YUP! Myself and my partner have only lived on Shetland for 4 years, we had our Civil Partnership here and all the guests (43 of them) were from Shetland, a separate party will be held for our families when we get a chance to go to Cornwall & Fife. Guest Anonymous
Most Shetlanders I know, have no issue at all as to someone's sexuality (there has been the odd brain dead Shetland idiot that has a problem), maybe I'm just picky about my friends Most of the homophobia I've come across tends to be from Eastern Europeans in Shetland (not all of them I have to say though)I reckon its a cultural/IQ problem
