fatboyslim
Me and the OH are thinking to go abroad and get married next year. Does anyone have experience of this and if so who did you book through?
Noodeyn
There's a really good brochure in leasks travel agents think it covers Greece mainly but full of the type of info you will need, congrats :0)
MJ
Even if the company "specialises" in weddings check 1st with the consulate that you've definitely got all the right documents.Your probably going somewhere a bit more exotic, but in France there were certificates coming out of my ears and they all had to be translated and stamped by lawyers etc. Also check with the registrar here that the ceremony is "legal". There have been changes in the law about marriages abroad, mainly for "sham" marriages but they may affect what you go for.

carlossimon
Gibraltar would be a good bet, following in the steps of John & Yoko, and as far as I'm aware you need no more in the way of documentation than getting married in the UK. http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ly5STkIulgEQTM:http://weddingtipster.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/1960s-yoko-ono-john-lennon.jpghttp://t2.gstatic.com/images Plus easy access to the Costa Del Sol or Morocco for the honeymoon. Trondra lass
We got married in Italy last year. Everything was booked through Leasks. It was really straight forward, just had to make sure the company had all our documents (birth certificates etc) a few months before hand. The translater lady came to our hotel a couple of times to run through the service. We had to "reside" in Itlay for 4 days prior to the marriage too. Of course it depends on where you want to get married.
Medziotojas
Don't get married in Lithuania whatever you do. You need reams of paperwork and everything must be rubber stamped at least a million times by some overly officious Soviet throwback. Have you considered Vegas? ...Disneyland for adults. sleepychef
British Virgin Islands are a great place to get married. Only need to be on island 4 days and can get married on a boat/beach/villa anywhere your heart desires. If needed I can put you in touch with people. British Virgin Islands are in the Caribbean just in case....
