stilldellin
Following reports of a UFO crash landing in the south mainland it now seems the occupants have left their globe shaped spacecraft and have occupied a property near the old Virkie school which they are planning to modify as a suitable craft for relaunching.Anyone living in the immediate vicinity are advised to keep a vigilant lookout as the intentions of these creatures from outwith our world is as yet not fully understood.Councillor for the area Allison " Flea " Duncan is already on the case and has sworn he will do his utmost to protect his constituents and will continually be monitoring the situation.Further details are expected in tomorrows edition of " Da Soothend Sudderly ".Crashed spacecraft :-http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb479/beenister/ufo1.jpg Return spacecraft :-http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb479/beenister/alienres.jpg

unlinkedstudent
I don't reckon a lot to the new SIC houses. Ghostie and I may have seen the initial craft crash landing but had assumed it was just the runway lights on the blink following the latest lekky company's outage - you mean it wasn't? ArabiaTerra
Return spacecraft :-http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb479/beenister/alienres.jpg Joking aside, stilldellin, the "return spacecraft" is actually quite a rare surviving example of an Allan-Williams turret: This was a steel rotating dome, mounted over a pit, and entered by a short tunnel, manned by two men. Opening or slider shutters in front and roof enabled a light machine gun to be mounted as either a LAA weapon, or against an attack at ground level. stilldellin
^ Aha, I had rather hoped someone might enlighten me as to what it was, it's certainly a good solid chunk of albeit rather rusted iron, probably been there from the war years then. Cheers for the info AT.
