  1. I enjoyed that show last night. Quite surprising to see Billy Connolly at number 1, I expected Peter Kay to be there because it was a channel 4 show. Bernard Manning - "If I stop doing stand up, I'll die"...please stop then.
  2. Speaking of Blue Peter, remember the infamous "elephant taking dump on live tv" incident? The same thing happened with a massive python on Monday or Tuesday this week. Classic.
  3. And if not, is it the Council's job to provide one ? I don't think the council has funded places of worship for other faiths. ( I've nothing against Muslims: I'm just a strong believer in the separation of church and state. ) That's what I was moving on to. Why should it be up to the council to build a mosque, or any other place of worship?
  4. Already in force. But not many people adhere to it.
  5. There's a point...do Muslims in Shetland actually have a place of worship?
  6. I watched Cool Runnings for about the 8 millionth time last night. I love that film. "Gentlemen, a bobsled is a simple thing"..."Yeah, So is a toilet!"
  7. I love some of the Family Guy stuff - Peter - "Boy, I feel luckier than Rhode Island" Flashback - "Right, heads we call it Rhode Island, tails we call it Cockopoopoopeepee Land"
  8. People who try to start conversations while standing at a public toilet urinal. It smells in here and I don't know you, so stop talking to me whilst Tomblands Jr. is going about his business.
  9. It just confirms how completely feckless the Home Office are. Any asylum seeker who is planning on staying in the UK isn't going to have their mind swayed by a text message from the Home Office. That's assuming they haven't done something completely ridiculous like...BOUGHT A NEW MOBILE PHONE...OH NO HOW COULD THEY!!!
  10. Nope, and that's why I avoid Glasgow. Seriously now... I heard on the radio yesterday that the latest plan by the Home Office is to contact those who are about to overstay their visa via text message. Very nice...
  11. I wouldn't be so sure, if Pressley can get a game for Scotland, anyone can.
  12. Not quite. His great aunt lives in Unst so he spent time there on holiday.

You missed - 4 Sep: National Indoor Arena, Birmingham, UK
  14. Oooooh. I've heard of people being shot for less.
  15. It is magnificant. If only I had started watching it from the beginning. I resorted to reading up on the first half of season 1, but I've seen from about episode 15 of season 1 up until whatever episode of season 2 channel 5 is showing.
  16. My problem with England (and any other home nations fans) fans waving the Union Jack is the "guilty by association" problem. If they are waving the flag at a sports event and generally behaving themselves I don't have a problem with it. However if there is trouble surrounding the event, particularly abroad, this can lead to the other countries getting tarred with the same brush. Back in the late 80's when English teams were banned from Europe, FIFA/UEFA's original plan was to ban all British teams from Europe and it took some lobbying from Welsh, Scottish and Northern Irish FA's to change their stance on this. Yes, the National Anthem of Great Britain is God Save the Queen. However when the home nations are competing as individual nations (Commonwealth Games, Football, Rugby etc) they should be allowed to sing whatever the hell they want.
  17. On the topic of the Carling Cup Final... http://img240.imageshack.us/img240/7027/42612395diabypa416copytr2.jpg
  18. Have you got anything to support the statement about the English clubs Junior?
  19. On the topic of Dan Brown, I finished "Deception Point" last night. It was addictive I must say, but very easy to figure out where the story is going after you have read any of his other work.
  20. Yeah, thats not likely. More chance of that bridge thing to Bressay actually being built than Spurs joining up with Thistle.

"Professional" is the wrong word to use in this case. "Full time clubs" and "Part time clubs" is more suitable. I think at the time when the Shetland guys played at Brechin they were 3rd Division so they would have been part time. Moray Leask and Karl Williamson would have been on full time contracts when they were with Hearts and Aberdeen respectively. One name I missed out was Billy Forsyth. I don't think he stayed in Shetland around the time, but he had spells with a few Highland League clubs.
  22. You can drop the religion stoness now. I'm still confident Aberdeen can take second, I don't fear the Old Firm.
  23. The first line of a "300" review by Neill Cumpston (no idea who he is)
