Yeah my post was off topic, I realise that. I just get fed up hearing that people dont mind jail as they find it an easier life than they get outside. Its hardly a deterrent. However, in this case it reflects badly on us as a society that pensioners feel they are better off in jail than at home trying to decide wether to eat or stay warm.

Great to see the prison system working!! When will the goverment learn that prison is supposed a punishment. Not something that people look forward to.

Not a major problem but inspite of being logged on 3 times this week, the site still says that I last visited on the 24th. anyone else noticed this?

I spoke to a Vodaphone engineer last year that I happened to meet. he told me that Shetland would not be getting 3G masts anytime soon. I dont think Shetlands missing to much though. Ive tried it when ive been south and most of the stuff I would do with my phone I can do with the phone in Shetland.

Neddish behavior was a problem on the street long before SYIS was even thought of and will continue on the street long after its gone. In my younger days we hung around outside conochies But I dont recall anyone calling for that to be closed.

Marooned in Maywick. I totally agree with you. It really annoyed me when the England fans would run around the streets of different countries waving the union flag. I seem to remember England fans wearing the union flag as a cloak while rioting, cant remember when or where though?

TO be told by locals not to go walking out there and to still do it is unbelievable stupidity. The risk to the rescuers lives doesnt bear thinking about. Is there a charge of wasting and endangering coastguard time and lives? Maybe they should have left him up there.
