  1. I think they are going to build a new building in Scalloway, so i dont think they need to rent. I dont understand why the Scalloway folk dont want a new shop in the village? its a shame that your Dr's didnt get the contract but then that lets them provide a better Dr's, no? More shops meens more choice? If the new ones needs temp. premises they could always give the council a shout as they could hire part of the school, now they have plenty room in there!
  2. one on this week i think on wednesday
  3. google it! i know people who have got it done south with edabile ink. its printed onto a sheet of icing then posted up to you, then you just stick it on your cake.
  4. What's happened to them? I'm suprised to hear they are still operating in anyway still, i found their customer service was a bit lacking last time i delt with them. a case of seveir overcharging to move some electicail appliances. the shop staff (like most shetland shops) was a hit or a miss on who you got depended on how good a service you got too. i think Applience Rescue is your best bet now
  5. ok im a bit fed up of this why is it that people always blame incomers for bleeding the council and welfare. Almost as if a shetlander has never begged for anything. I totaly agree with you there, i know quite a few Shetlanders who would be shocked if they had to do a days work. please dont blame everyone but yourself for desisions. big familys, big council hoose and a free disabled car to match. so anti anybody atacks just goes agenst you. now they are keeping 2 schools open that means all the other schools have their budgets cut to keep them open. There is no more money going into the education pot. We all have to share what is left amoung the everyone still open. I would like to know who far the Donrossness kids travel on the bus everyday, if its good for them mabe that policy should be taken on by all schools??
  6. Looks interesting but i could not sit in the Museum to watch it. Its funny how the 'film people' think the Garrison has Rubbish seats (hens we need a propper Cinema) but then book places with ever worse seats. when is it out on DVD?
  7. Well i feel sorry for the Scalloway kids and teachers, just as they were ready to move its all up in the air now. Its a good idea keeping them in the school till the new AHS is ready, but why did no one think of it when the decisions were being discussed and passed months ago. Its too late now!!! Why can our top brass pass something then un pass it when its 'nearly' too late. I voted to JWills and I'm right behind him in almost everything he says. Yes, hes a bit gluffie and i'm sure he could be a pain in the bottom if he finds out your 'fiddeling' desisions, or making ones when the oposision is away. Not that I'm saying that goes on ofcourse. One idea i heard was close Burra School (as the Burra folk love Scalloway so much they wont mind going there from P1) then the money saved could keep Scalloway open? We need more like JW people we a bit of umph, i duna like the silent sneaking about type. I want Billy Fox as conveiner! I'm sure he can tell you when they closed Quarf school the kids got on better in Cunningsburgh, and the community is still there - so using the school as a hub idea didnt make any difrence.
  8. its a shame to hear that, when you could say its the london lots fault. but now he will have tons more time to devote to the people he repersents
  9. well that came to nothing then??
  10. you caqn buy rolls of tint to put on your car - i had them in a car years ago and relitivy easy to put on. you just cut to the size of your window spray of washing up liquit/water onto window and slap it on! its no bother i only did the back windows though, it fairly makes a difrence of heat in the car in a sunny day
  11. they do but its only used if the playvan comes too - its never hired out to individuales without the staff i think the south end comunity used to have one but just for people who live in the south end. i think its Islesburgh or nothing!
  12. Last year i went south on the boat on my own and with my car. i paid nearly £400 just getting from here to aberdeen. i think the fare is relitive cheap, but the cabins - sepecialy if your on your own (and under occupying a cabin) is a compleet rip off. i vowed id never go on the boat again in the summer with the summer prices they charge. sometimes to get a tv hogging a 4 berth is the cheapest way too. otherwies known as bed blocking. if thats crusing - expencive cabins with no tv i dont want to go crusing! aleast now they have tea/coffee which is a slight improvment
  13. I wonder if its a particular member of staff making this daft decisions or is it a department thing? Sounds like a jobsworth going on here....
  14. What i do is start with who i am not voting for, like the torries then knock them off the list and see who im left with, what ever i do i will always vote, my parents would turn in their grave is i didnt vote - after all the fought to have that liberty. Even if you go in and write 'none of them!', always use ur vote
  15. Yes at the end of this month, contact islesburgh for tickets or go online to shetland box office.
  16. Try going to the place over from the freefeild chemist, thats who I'm with my wooden house
  17. Paul at the spa is realy good - they do tones of things over there, put shetland spa into google
  18. one question i have, did they phone us to come? or did we phone them to be included in their tour?
  19. funny how you never hear of a manual worker getting early retirment on a big pay oot? why's that then?
  20. I heard yesterday that its suposed to be going up by 3p tomorrow (Monday)
  21. If I had to conjure up a list of 3 retailers I would only buy from if I absolutely had to... those would be it. Do you insist on buying your petrol from BP too? i should also add the 2 very cheap supermarkets too. On my budget i go cheap, chuck it if/when it brakes and get another one. Why pay more when you dont have to. better in my bank then someone elses. or pay us more wages, then we might think about principails
  22. Thanks for that. Dont know how you get to be a Tesco trol when your telling folk that 'play' is better than Tesco. The main bit is to shop around online as well as at home. Getting things delivered to the door is sometimes worth paying south prices - even if that is a wee bit higher than here. Some days i cant be bothered trying to get a parking space miles away From the street when your just looking for one thing. ps. I dont work for any shop!
  23. There are treatments available for such a serious degree of sickness in a Troll, like you. But those treatments have been proved to be rather useless against Trolls who beliebve in Tesco. So, I'd suggest the secondary treatment for Tesco Trolls, which has proved very popular. Feed them a bar of laxative chocolate, then they can sit in a toilet and discuss Tesco with themselves all day. i think thats a tad strong, thats exactly what i and tons of people do do, why and how does that make me a trol (what ever that is) I'm looking forward to them selling petrol too! I for one don't care where i buy goods from as long as the price matches the quality and the service getting it is good. If that meens a big shop then that means a big shop internet or not. The last big purches i bought was from the Camera Centre who bet the internet in all counts
  24. last week in a chip shop, lass waiting for chips, scrached her head, rubbed her nose, picked her belly button then shoveled chips on a tray for me! if one part of her hand actualy touched the food i was ready to refuse it unless she washed her hands. Do the kids at school not get Hygiene lessons or do they not have to have it before getting a job in a food place of work?
