    Colin McRae RIP

The loss of 2 adults and 2 young children is tragic. The sad fact is that more than one family is grieving the loss of a husband, father, son and brother. CM was an incredibly talented driver who could excel in just about any type of vehicle he was put in - apparently he really let rip in an F1 car when given a shot in one. He'd spent his time since retirement looking for the next generation of british motorsport talent and it's such a shame that he won't be around to see those efforts fulfilled.
  3. That bloomin' AA insurance ad with the woman and a back seat full of folk in suits. Her son is wisely blocking out the sound of her wittering away by listening to his MP3 player. In fact - any insurance advert irritates me. It's not so much irritating as odd - but has anyone seen the Cadbury's Dairy Milk advert with the gorilla playing the drums to Phil Collin's 'Something in the air tonight'?
  4. I borrowed a copy which I then read in a day and a half. Probably my equal favourite along with Prisoner of Azkaban. I'll wait until it comes out in paperback before buying a copy and then will read the whole series again from start to finish.

Who's gonna get John Hopkins ride on the Suzuki next year when he goes to Kawasaki? Ben Spies would be my pick as he's doing so well for them in AMA. Will Capirossi go to Kawasaki as well and if so who'll get his seat on the Duke? Any predictions for Laguna Seca? The Suzuki's have gone well there in the past when they were rubbish so both Hopper and Vermulen stand a good chance. Pedrosa and Hayden both like the track and either could be on the podium. Rossi's never been a huge fan of the place but went fairly well there last year and will be getting desperate for a win. And then there's Stoner who has yet to finish outside the top 5 this year. The main thing is that with the Honda's starting to get their mojo back and the Suzuki's being more competitive than they've been for years it should make for interesting racing.
  6. I remember the story about the boat which had to be rescued which reportedly contained two male persons and 6 non-human persons.................!!!! Turned out to be a couple of blokes with their dog putting some sheep into an isle!

The starting grid positions made for an excellent race all round. Seeing Rossi and Hayden coming from 11th & 13th on the grid to make 1st & 3rd on the podium was brilliant. So much more entertaining than the snoozefest that is F1 where the first 3 qualifiers were on the podium.
  8. Don't get me started on a bank that pays your cheques into someone elses account and then tries to charge you for having insufficient funds Then they say they will give you a cheque for the amount THEY mistakenly put elsewhere which you then have to hope they manage to pay into the correct account. Then they say they will see about refunding charges. Breaths.........must remember to take deep breaths......
  9. What do these words have in common.... Banana, Dresser, Grammar, Potato, Revive, Uneven, Assess

  12. How do you go about getting stuff added to the events calender?
  13. Saw an episode of The Professionals on ITV3 or 4 last week - oh the memories.............. The music wisna bad either.
  14. I agree with the cheese, beans & bacon but I'd add a little bit of finely chopped onions into the mix. Smoked sausage occasionally replaces the bacon if I fancy a change. When I'm making my own at home I like cheese with a stir fry vegetable mix consisting of spring onion, peppers, cherry tomatoes, broccolli & courgettes. With a side salad and dressing it's scrummy. All this talk of food - I feel a mid afternoon blood sugar slump coming on............!
  15. Hot Fuzz will be on as well!!! Also showing - Ghost Rider and Premonition
  16. Fear not! It's coming to the Garrison in May!

Okay, we've had the first race of the season which showed off the speed of the Ducati and the fact that Stoner can finish (and win) a race - even while he's got Rossi sitting up his tailpipe! What d'ya think will happen at Jerez this weekend?
  18. An excellent series which I've watched since the beginning - I was hooked right away!
  19. Dir wis a bit on Watchdog last night on BBC1 aboot dis very subject and featured the stories of 3 different folk taking 3 different banks to court to get repaid money the banks had taken off in charges. All 3 won their cases and the banks were ordered to cough up for the charges and costs. Two had to resort to threatening to get the bailiffs in before the banks paid up. The third had his money paid but then received a letter from the bank saying he had 32 days to close down all his accounts with them or they'd take him to court. Sour grapes or what!

  24. Someone passed me details of this website which might be worth a look for those of you who do a bit of shopping online. www.retail-charity.com The explanatory blurb is all on the homepage but basically they have an agreement with various companies i.e. Amazon, W H Smith, etc. that if you come to their website and shop via the Retail Charity one then they will donate some dosh to the charity type of your choice i.e. animal, children's, environmental, medical, etc.
