drjunk
Hi everyone. I was wondering which solicitor to choose for buying my council house? I've tried buying twice in the past, but on both occasions i ran out of time, because the solicitor was to slow......cheers
ISOT
I've been involved in the purchase of 2 properties. Once the solicitor in question was paid by me, everything was slow, excuses were made, problems were not his fault and then at the end of the day charged me twice his original quote!!!! The second time, the seller used him when I was purchasing a property, again, terrible delays and excuses once more, blaming my solicitor for the problems which I know was complete rubbish. Check your PM's. Cheers

unlinkedstudent
Try here http://www.inksters.com/brianinkster.aspx I would trust no one else Certainly not.....But that's just based on my experience of them. Inksters were brilliant with our purchase. Efficient, quick - and quoted nearly HALF the price of Shetland-based Solicitors. Even when our bank caused delays which meant more work for Inksters, they didn't charge a penny more.

Blondie
We've used Conveyancing Direct twice and wholeheartedly recommend them. They're efficient, professional and don't drag their feet. On both occasions we saved hundreds of pounds on the prices quoted by local solicitors. We're not planning to move again but if we did, we'd have no hesitation in using them again. http://www.conveyancingdirect.co.uk/

tojo
Although we havent been successful buying a new property due to many reasons, we have experienced 3 different solicitors in Lerwick. I dont want to criticise any publicly, but I would recommend Dowle-Smith-Rutherford. They were highly professional, gave great up to date advice, moved swiftly and constantly gave feedback on what was happening.
