tirvaluk
Some of the guests might fancy a traditional Scottish dance, you could get some dance band CDs.
peerie t
Some of the guests might fancy a traditional Scottish dance, you could get some dance band CDs. The burravoe hall discos always used to finish with old lang syne then go into a Boston two-step... Maybe just showing my age there, but it was always good for a laugh at the end of a disco!!! JustMe
Really is hard to say without knowing you, your partner and the people that will be at the wedding. Whenever anyone asks that sort of question I always suggest Rockpile's "I knew the Bride when she used to rock and roll". Now if you have the right sort of friends (and family) some old fun dancing song like "Agadoo" could go down well. And something early on for the kids to dance to........as well as the adults who have never grown up. Maybe at some point a break from dancing and get the DJ to play a few quiet tunes chosen by the bride and groom. And at some point in the night it might be fun if the DJ announced "Shotgun Wedding" by special request of the bride/bridegroom. And how about the "Blue Danube Waltz".........announced as something Mum/Dad/Gran or whoever could dance to.......but fade into something fast and furious after a few bars. But whatever you decide it is your day so enjoy!
trowie246
For the first dance my suggestion would be Shania Twain, From This Moment or Wet Wet Wet, Love is all around or Savage Garden, Truly Madly Deeply. The rest is good going tunes, Dire Straits - Walk of lifeBon Jovi - Living on a prayerCyndi Lauper - Girls just wanna have funBeyonce - All the single ladiesKaty Perry - FireworkKenny Logan - FootlooseStatus Quo - Rockin all over the worldBlack eyed peas - I gotta feelingRight said Fred - I'm too sexy for my shirtPink - I'm coming upSteve Earle - Galway girlQueen Crazy - little thing called loveThe Wanted - Glad you cameBoy George - Karma chameleonSugababes- About you nowWestlife - Uptown girlKylie Minogue - All the loversDead or Alive - You spin me right roundThe Saturdays - Just can't get enoughGirls Aloud- JumpDavid Guetta -When love takes overDexys Midnight Runners - Comeon EileenJohnny Cash- Folsom Prison bluesKatrina and the Waves - Walking on sunshineDiana Ross- Chain reactionMadonna - Hung upLeona Lewis - CollideThe Grid - Swamp thingThe Rembrandts - I'll be there for youBruce Springsteen - Dancing in the darkDuck Sauce - Barbra StreisandFallout Boy - Dance DanceAnything by Lady GaGaAnything by Abba. The village people YMCA goes down well as does the conga. If there's alot of bairns you could also do the grand old duke of york.

Ghostrider
^^'White Wedding' then....either Billy Idol's original or Doro's cover, both equally good IMHO. The title works, good going tune, the lyrics....bleh....maybe work, maybe don't, depends how you take em.
unlinkedstudent
One to raise the eyebrows - Meredith Brooks B.... (Nothing in-between) and one for the romantics, Sonny & Cher - I got you babe.
