Went there once a few years back when visiting Shetland and it was closed :'( I didn't realise there was more than one chocolate maker here? For the sake of balance and fairness, maybe they should be mentioned too so I can visit and eat all their chocolate?

UFO crash landing in South Mainland
DizzyKipper replied to stilldellin's topic in Anything & Everything Else
No no it isn't you said it was. It's for protedting the little people when the weather gets bad in winter. -
Saw that, I figured it was a stock/library photo. Anyway April aside, it was the tone of the post that got me.

Actually it IS April already, funnily enough. Anyway if it isn't true, an April Fool's hoax so what? And... if you're not sure you can always ask Austin Taylor.

Ouch no chance then Good luck with it -
If someone wants to know something from the business person, but it would be breaking advertising rules, why not send them a private message... then everyone is happy

Polecats etc
DizzyKipper replied to Marooned in Maywick's topic in Agriculture / Self Sufficiency / Gardening / Pets
Polecats and Ferrets are genetically very similar. The difference between a domestic ferret and a European polecat is that a ferret is the domestication of the Polecat and is a pet. Domestication has reduced the Ferrets ability to fend for themselves. Polecat Ferret hybrids do exist and are very difficult to distinguish from a true Polecat. The domestic ferret is smaller, and has a more fragile bone structure. A domestic ferret is usually lighter in color, and the mask does not reach the tinted neck band like it does with the European polecat. The European polecat has a rounder face. The back of the ears of a European polecat is dark, whereas it is light in the domestic ferret. European polecat jaws are much stronger than those of the domestic ferret. The European polecat is more muscular. The European polecat is a solitary animal and only meets in the mating season, while the ferret loves company. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_know_the_difference_between_a_European_polecat_and_a_domestic_ferret -

New sheep disease
DizzyKipper replied to Heimdal's topic in Agriculture / Self Sufficiency / Gardening / Pets
I thought there are no restrictions on movement for the new disease simply because it's not passed between animals. midge > sheep/cow > death/deformity Culling animals or moving them around UK or Europe or not, will make no difference. -
Tesco deliver all over Shetland mainland, not sure about islands. There is no charge but I guess they make a loss on the fuel so they don't advertise. There is another thread about it somewhere. They are not allowed to advertise on their vans, but have to offer the service as it was a condition when they took over. I feel a bit sorry for them so I only get them to deliver a big lot of shopping. The manager said something a while back out delivering for functions too? Have to check that one. You have to go in and pay for your groceries and they will deliver later in the day for you. The drivers are very nice The number for the customer service desk has changed, it's now 01595 480807. Ring a couple of days in advance to be sure Should Paul Clelland be reading, I know you have to do it, but I'm very grateful that you do, thanks very much!

Well then I'm very happy because I got no letter. However someone else I know spoke to one the people doing the work, and they said there is to be an all day power cut for the whole of south mainland, not sure when but probably next week! Does anyone in the power company actually know what's going on? I think it's just a wait and see thing
-
OK which day, and is that just the people who had letters or those affected by the burning pole, or something else? *confused*
-
Ohhhh ok. Not to do with the burning pole then
-
Where did you get this from Stilldellin?
-
lol It's happy - and it's sunny. Tomorrow it is sad, what will happen to the weather I wonder?

I believe Freelancer has been extended by the community into a multiplayer version with new systems... maybe even changing commodity prices? Not sure about that bit.
