  1. We used to play on the Sletts, that was ok. Just the odd wet feet.
  2. Does anyone recomend or use a gps... I have been after one but not too sure nowadays what to look for.. I am not after fancy maps but the ability to plot route and work out distances traveled. I will be using it on land and maybe at sea, so it has to be able to have a specific mounting cradle, I will also be using it on a push bike... Oh, it should have an ext. p[ower option, mind my last one I got in 1997 used to eat batteries, they maybe better.. Many thanx in anticipation
  3. POSSIBLE PERSEID METEOR OUTBURST: This year's Perseid meteor shower could be even better than usual. According to NASA's Meteoroid Environment Office, a filament of comet dust has drifted across Earth's path and when Earth passes through it, sometime between 0800 and 0900 UT (1 - 2 am PDT) on August 12th, the Perseid meteor rate could surge to twice its normal value.

  7. rice can be very dodgy, that is y, reheating your take away the next day is a nono...it could be the third or fourth time it has been heated... It contains a chemical that manifests it'self the more you re heat, I am not sure of details. So be warned
  8. Fair point. How about: "has anyone tried the new Thai takeaway on the street? I hear it's not far from the Peerie Shop Cafe". Better? Cheeky

  10. Brass would not really work, the salt and aviation fuel may tarnish it. It should be local stone, or bronze. We would need to get some quotes, and we would need someone to design and apply for permission....
  11. Well, off to find out now... Just had a flock of seagulls fly over (mmmm a trendy 80's band NOT) noisy. Bombing too...
  12. Is that the same bit that is on the side of the road, that is where the old terminal building was, my mam and dad I think had a cottage behind it, all flat now apart from foundations....
  13. I think it would need someone to pay then permission to install it.... But, rather than sesd south are there no budding stonemasons around, who could use the local stone...you would need to to seek advice from some of the relatives, to see what they would think as fitting...
  14. where I will be parking the 22 tonne truck is next to where they sleep, and, the guys who I am closing road, or a bit of will be using road breakers. Hence the need for TM, stops them from gettin run over
  15. Tis true that things have to planned alot more, but what are we doing about it. Are we just building to meet current needs or are we going to have a cut in our electricity usage at the same time... I feel that if we build too many they will not offset them selves and folk may think it ok to waste more electricity.
  16. The insurance may be a little more, l/h drive vehivles are, and you will pay premium car tax rate, I would check that side 1st. But, they are fun... The other side is getting it seviced and fixed... http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C39088/
  17. We used to put hardboard down, or you can get thick cardboard on a roll to do the same...or even newspapers...
  18. And yours sounds fun, have always wanted a small holding (no puns please) will have to save.... Tis a good job, worst bit is the rain, next worst bit is sitting in an Impact Protection Vehicle (or crash cushion) waitin for a truck to hit you, so far only bin hit 2 times, we all survived.. Tomorrow will probably wake up the homeless that sleep in the bushes in town centre, gonna take an extra flask of coffee to compensate....
  19. Off now to close off some parts of the A6 and some roads in Blackpool. At least by now the boyracers have gotten home and everything is a bit more calm. In the centre of Preston tomorrow, even earlier....
