It's going to seem like a long time till the bikes start back up in March!! I hope next year is as good as this year has been. I also hope: - no one runs away with any of the championships. - the Suzuki's & Kwaka's are more competitive. - Stoner manages to stay right way up till the end of a race more than half the time. - Andrew Pitt gets a decent bike. - Biaggi makes an ass of WSB
  2. Jees - I'm startin ta slaver here!!! I'd have to give a shout to marmalade and cheese - a very quick and handy snack when you can't be bothered to faff around with too many ingredients. As for no tomatoes - I felt the same until I started using cherry tomatoes. The ones off the vine you get in the Co-op are really delicious in a sarnie. The biggest evil to enter a sarnie is in fact cucumber

No long till free practice gets underway in Valencia. I canna wait till da race on Sunday - and we've got McCoy on the Ilmore and Bayliss back on the Ducati - I'm getting all jittery just thinkin aboot it!! I hope that nobody gets taken out and it's an exciting and fair race all the way to the flag.
  4. I dunna tink Neil Peart's full drum kit could fit on da stage o da Garrison!

    Bad lyrics

I thought the Enterprise theme was just about bearable for the first series but for the second series they decided to add some jingly jangly type accompaniement over the top of it which transformed it to utter sh*te.

Cracking action from Assen on Sunday although the conditions in Race 1 were atrocious. I could hardly bear to watch the last laps of Race 1 in case the Stalker came a cropper! He did brilliantly to come from the back and win - and to stay on when all those others went dirt-tracking and falling off. Haga in particular must've been gutted.
  7. A truly evil genius indeed. Did the evil one use Connor as compost for those flowers he's been so carefully tending or what?
  8. Apparently I'm in need of Coffee (very true) Support from donations (always welcome) All the rest I can get (it has been a long week) Kindness and affection (don't we all) Painting 8O
  9. I got sent a list of alternative uses for Bounce (the sheets which you stick in your tumble-dryer). On the list was the following:- 1. It repels mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season. (wonder if it has the same effect on midges!?!) 2. Golfers put a Bounce sheet in their back pocket to keep the bees away. 3. It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them. Given all these apparent insect repellent abilities it might be worth a shot! There are about 20 alternative uses in total ranging from eliminating static electricity from your television (or computer) screen to dissolving soap scum from shower doors. The tv screen one works - dunno about the rest.

  14. I was horrified to learn that Sakchai is being treated in this way. The idea that he was arrested in such an outrageous manner and could be deported to a country where he knows no one is shocking to me. I'd like to register my support for Sakchai and hope everything possible is done to prevent this travesty from occurring.

Looks like Rossi's getting all his previous years share of bad luck in one season. The rookies this year are complete stars and showing the long-termers how it should be done. Good to see Suzuki making a decent showing as well. Pedrosa gets stick for being so light but he's only something like 6-8kg lighter than Elias, Stoner & Capirossi. They don't get hassle for being so much lighter than the rest of the field. For me I'm just happy to watch good racing and glad to see a competitive championship for a change. Roll on Mugello!

Excellent race though I have to say I was rooting for Stoner - the boys done brilliant. The 250's were pretty damned good too! Contender for save of the season from De Angelis on the last lap.

  21. How many of those 2442 were for the 5 showings of Walk the Line? I bet it was easily more than half. I spoke to folk going to see that who hadn't set foot inside the Garrison in 15-20 years. The only reason they were going was because they were huge Johnny Cash fans. Another couple I spoke to (who were going for the same reason) hadn't been to the 'pictures' since they were courting 35 years ago! I think this film attracted a 'different' audience which might not necessarily translate to increased usage of a cinema - although it may persuade some folk that the Garrison isn't the nightmare place to watch films that many would have us believe. Of the other films shown I think Chicken Little was the only other one with a particularly large audience. I'd say there were less than 80 folk at the showing of Syriana I went to. Hardly a big audience for an oscar winning film with George Clooney in it!

Excellent racing this weekend. Thought Rossi was back to himself again - wonder if there was any connection with 'The Doctor' appearing on the back of his leathers again after being replaced by 'Rossi' last time out? Wouldn't surprise me given how superstitious the guy is. Seriously, it was good to see a bit of agression from Haydn, Stoner did well in his second race considering he was apparently dosed with the cold, and Caparossi is continuing his good form. Makes for an interesting championship. Did anyone see the shambles that was ITV's coverage of BSB's at Donnington? I was getting telly rage!!! I was glad to see that Sky are showing delayed coverage of the whole shebang including 125's, etc which started at about 8.30pm. For the sake of my blood pressure I think in future I might just give ITV a miss and watch Sky's coverage.
