misty25
Think that may be a good idea, airport is closed at the moment. I had to fly south at the beginning of december, took the boat the night before, and was planning to fly back the next day,but ended up being stranded in Aberdeen, as the last flight home was cancelled. Rastis
My father is ment to be flying home tonight from Aberdeen we have told him to get booked on the ferry instead. http://www.hial.co.uk/sumburgh-airport/#fragment-1 This link is to Sumburgh Airport, there have been no planes all day so IF they start there will probably be a backlog of people trying to get away. Urabug
Well that is the Old Anderson High School now closed and the New school just about ready to open. A lot of the work to provide this new school has been done by outside contractors, guess we did not have the expertise or the manpower to be able to do it with local labour only at a price suitable to the powers that be. But surely with all the vans and trucks that are here in Shetland we could have mustered enough manpower and vehicles to shift all the bits and pieces from the old school to the new one without the need of Pickfords Then again these trucks are probably coming north filled to the gunwales with brand new desks and chairs ect, so just use them while they are here to do the rest ! MuckleJoannie
The team from Pickfords that are here are specialists in flitting schools.
Popular Post Ghostrider
^ Rolls Royce option again? Everybody and his auntie uisng whatever vans they could lay their hands on seemed to do the emergency evacuation flit of the White House just fine..... .....don't tell me the AHS had more precious crap to shift than that bunch of posturing seat polishers and their infamous filing cabinets. brecken, George. and suuusssiiieee

George.
Some peeps suggesting that Pickfords are doing more than their jobs?
Ghostrider
Then again these trucks are probably coming north filled to the gunwales with brand new desks and chairs ect, so just use them while they are here to do the rest ! Nah. By the looks of it they came up stuffed full of cardboard boxes, all plastered with the Pickfords logo......Which are now going to be used for one quick short trip across the town, then more than probaby for the most part straight off to the dump. Between Tesco and the Coop they surely could have gotten enough gaddered over the last while to do, its not like they didn't know long ago they were gonna flit. The irony of this following so close on the tail of the SIC's plans to rack up local 'recycling' is duly noted. George.
Urabug
If Pickfords do a good job here, they might get called to shift all the bruck back to the Whitehouse
Urabug
They surely would not be so mean and not put it to the incinerator plant and keep the Lerrik folk warm !
Ghostrider
If Pickfords do a good job here, they might get called to shift all the bruck back to the Whitehouse Now, that IS the stuff that needs to go straight to the incinerator. They can't take it back with them anyway, it'll just start knocking that shed down in a different way with all its weight if they do.
