Having had really good pre-natal care from the midwifes here and then having to go to Aberdeen to have my baby I felt a definite lack of support when coming home. It would have been really nice to have a familiar face after I came home who knew what I'd been through. Although my health visitor was also very nice she didn't know me at all during pregnancy, and it can be very difficult speaking to friends and family about bladder weakness and post natal depression - both of which unfortunately hit me. I think the idea of having a doula the whole way through to have a good moan to and ask all the stupid questions you dont want to ask the midwifes would be an excellent help.
