  1. I can think of a few folk that would be "at home" there
  2. I have contact dermatitis so it's slightly different, but the treatments are very similar. MJ is spot on, the only bit I would add is keeping your hands warm, wear gloves outside from now till at least May! And never scratch with your nails, rub the itch.
  3. Will putting the fine up make any difference ?? http://www.shetlandtimes.co.uk/2010/10/05/council-convener-proposes-100-fines-to-end-persistent-dog-fouling I would like to think so .. but I doubt it
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JIQTCoJ5Rc A blast from the past... Flare up at Shetland (***Mod Edit - Youtubified link***)
  5. Yes I think the liquid should work.. but definitely not bleach. the poor cats senses will be overloaded
  6. FilskaDaCat .. Just use washing powder, it will neutralise the ammonia Don't use anything with any bleach/ strong chemicals or smell, because your cat will think it's another cat in her territory and "mark" it again
  7. ^^ I think this is the article Para Handy is referring to http://www.shetland-news.co.uk/2010/August/news/Clark%20says%20SIC%20leaders%20must%20go.htm
  8. We saw them in the toon about half an hour ago .. it's clouded over now
  9. Nooooo They would have to be properly trained to push that button! with the appropriate risk assessments and insurances in place
  10. Bolts mini-mart sell Johns eggs fae Whalsay .. they're a thousand times better and sometimes cheaper than any supermarket/superstore bought ones! I go weekly for my eggs and always come out with a lot more.
  11. ^^ I did hear a whisper that 6am till midnight might be on the cards for the store
  12. ^^ Tesco's big telly's are ... as I mind .. Panasonic and Sony? as kent brands, I wouldn't worry about buying them. But son and heir has already bought a massive telly locally .. we get our brownie points
  13. Our last kettle was also from the Lk Co-op, cause the one before (bought from Asda) calved on a Sunday. The Town Centre Association also moaned very heavily about Bolts when it was started! If they would put as much effort into their own businesses as they put into blaming everyone else, they would be billionaires!!
  14. http://www.shetland-news.co.uk/2010/July/news/Relay%20smashes%20fund%20raising%20records.htm Outstanding!! well done!!
  15. No... and he also is very aware that I can see what he does.
  16. ^^^ We could say the same about the Chief executive, he was mostly "on leave" and the cogs kept turning.
  17. My 11 year old son has a fb account thanks to his much older sister I have no problem with this as I keep a close eye on it.
  18. Anyone in Shetland could have called the Sun There was nothing in the article that I hadn't heard already.
  19. Incompetent = He obviously had no experience of employment law, you can't just delete a job .. no matter how justified! He had no man management skills eg. On being shown round a department he was introduced to the manager, he then proceeded to tell him, in front of all his staff, that the place was too small to have a manager, and his position would have to be "looked into!" at best that was stupid - at worst bulling! As he was to be our "figure head" these are 2 very basic skills I would have expected him to have. Unsuitable = As I have said before I have no problem with his private life, that's not my business! But I would expect a certain amount of public decorum from our highest paid official, unfortunately this was not the case.
