JordanKZ
^ Yea we got dumped by o2 too. We're with PlusNet now... we get 80g download from 8am-12am and then proper unlimited from midnight to 8am. The speed is great too, compared to what it was with o2. We even managed to stream the first episode of Ashes to Ashes on the iPlayer last night, something we haven't been able to do for a long, long time. http://www.speedtest.net/result/796900568.png Cheers for the advice on this. I'm currently awaiting my router from Plus.net and I've been using sending @'s to their support on Twitter which has been great. Should finally be off o2 as of Friday. And then I'll finally send back the router they've been pestering for!

zebbidy
i wonder what sort of speeds we could all see when this optical cable has been hooked up? i have a few mates down south on optic cable broadband and one of them only gets speeds of 6/7Mbps down stream and another who gets about 30Mbps down stream. i hope we will have a decent speed! It's fairly hard to say. Really depends on what kind of technology they use. They basically have two options. Fibre to Cabinet (which means you'll still have a copper connection from your house to the phone exchange) meaning you can only get around 40mbit. However Fibre to home is theoretically limitless. But will cost a heck of a lot more and will mean you'll have to have a new fibre cable connected to your house. It really just depends on what they end up doing and how much money they're will to spend.
zebbidy
so that means we will most likely have Fiber to Cabinet then as its the council thats paying for it since BT refused to pay when the cable first got laid. oh well i hope its a decent enough speed we get

tarotangel
I'm on this: http://www.speedtest.net/result/835755737.png Thought it might be slighter quicker seeing as I can see the exchange fae the hoose.
Widworx
I'm With BT, and luckily, I live close to an exchange. It has only failed once and a quick phone call to BT sorted it in a matter of minutes. They even phoned me back after 30 mins to check everything was working. This is the average speed I get every test. http://www.speedtest.net/result/837271747.png
MJ
Something obviously wrong herehttp://www.speedtest.net/result/837477705.pngFrom the serious lack of video streaming recently on all machines this can't be right?
MJ
Does anyone have any idea why it's lying to me? http://www.speedtest.net/result/838163009.png I'm in the brig o waas there's no way that's real.
Widworx
MJ - Amazing !! I would not have thought you could get that speed anywhere in Shetland, have you tried using another speed test checker as a means of checking it ? The speed I got on it, is similar to other speed checkers I have tried over the last few months, so I would think it's pretty accurate. MJ
I find this rather amusung too http://www.pingtest.net/result/18279963.png It seems to come and go in waves, maybe why I can't stream anything? http://www.speedtest.net/result/838277197.png I lost the pingtest that had me line a D line quality. Watching the needles on these things is quite amusing. so any idea what's causing it to spike? pretty sure waas doesn't provide lines capable of these speeds. Me I just want to be able to watch Chuck...

MJ
watch the bairn doesn't see that. she'd be so stung. have tried downloading Chuck but it always misses out the last 10minutes. It takes 40mins just to download 40mins if that makes sense.
