Sudden Stop
Bairns, watch yourselves on the roads tonight. I've just driven from the toon to Voe and the temperature is only a couple of degrees above zero - the road surface could well be below it. There has also just been a really wet sleety shower which could well freeze over. brrrr...

Logie-Bear
Police are appealing to motorists to keep their speed down after three separate crashes on black ice this morning. All happened within a short distance of each other on the A971 Tresta to Walls road. No-one was injured in any of the accidents. The first incident was at 8.08am when a council van crashed into a barrier, coming to rest at an angle and blocking the road. Fire appliances from Walls, Lerwick and Scalloway attended the scene. The second was at 8.15am on the same stretch of road when a private van skidded on the ice and came to rest on its roof. Police say there was a third incident on the same road later in the morning, although no details were available. They are urging motorists to watch their speed and drive in accordance with conditions on the road. mogling
My young cat was going daft tonight - jumping up on top of cupboards. The Full moon has been, and he usually just gets argumentative when the wind is going to pick up, so I'm predicting snowy showers in the near future... GypsyScy
^^ I'm always amazed how ferral our cat goes in the snow!!! Thought it would be something he would avoid but he seems to get all brazen and hides in snow piles to jump out on passing dog walkers to wind up the dogs

DizzyKipper
Is there anywhere online that tells you whether buses are running? Leasks site doesn't seem to... The roads are icy by me but I don't know how bad the roads have to get before they call off the buses.
