im going for unst to town tomorrow first thing, quite important to go aswell, wondering what the roads are like in yell and throught? by the sounds they are terrible...

I don't think that will be happening!. I had men in Unst today who reported that the snow was 1.5 feet deep in places and that was this morning and the snow that's arrived in Lerwick this evening is

:D

When we were out we saw the road boys closing the bottom of church road at don leslie's there. Assume whole road to top is closed...

Definitely going to be a slow day tomorrow everywhere, would be stunned if any schools are open as this is definitely the most we've had so far this year.

Still comparitively mild though. No wind in the forecast and should be nice between showers. As far as the roads go, it may seem bad but its only a few years ago that these conditions were the norm and people just stayed at home (and for the most part, enjoyed it!, lucky beggers!)

i was hearing all these horror stories off here just before we left brae for firt, we been in Lk most o the day, and am no come across anything that bad. Is not really that long ago there was no road saat and few ploughs n folk had chains for car wheels, there would be some weeping n wailling n gnashing of teeth about bein bothered to put on chains nowadays
