Longdog
I think it's time we had a more positive thread about Shetland instead of slagging of the place and people we live with.... So here's one to get you going Do you think we could manage one a day Shetland News...Museum delighted with new fiddle Shetland fiddle maker Ewen Thomson yesterday (Thursday) recorded traditional folk tunes on the fiddle he made for the National Museum of Scotland. Listening in is Susan Levandowski, the national museum's assistant curator of ethnomusicology. groilick
^^^^^Yes - but it is no substitute for not letting us have the St Ninian's Isle Treasure back!
Noodeyn
Well done long dog for trying to brighten things up :0) seems like a good thread looking forward to reading some positive comments about positive things :0)
Shoogler
Great thread Longdog. It would be good to have a media outlet that concentrated on broadly positive news and events/happenings for a change - but that's a big ask so a Shetlink thread is a start. Let's find another tomorrow.

unlinkedstudent
Half the Council resigned ... sugar, that was in me dream. Well I'm in Shetland so do dreams count LOL? Njugle
Nice job Longdog. We used to get a lot more of this kind of positivity, back in the day. Unfortunately it is much easier for people ot find problems than solutions, so they tend to dwell on the problems. My good news of the day would be that there is a proper gale on the way. I don't like these irritating half measure gales. The real deal is the definitive Shetland winter wonder.

Twerto
Its Friday. Its another hour nearer a trip to the pub for a pint and a game of pool. I survived another trip to the supermarket without my bank card being spat back out at me.If I stand outside and face south my lungs dont need to work under their own steam as they are force fed fresh air. It's another day nearer summer. There are 7 minutes more daylight today than yeterday. hmm that will do for now

unlinkedstudent
Oh don't. You mean you managed to log onto Gateway with no problems? Perish the thought, I'm still entering the figures on Excel overwriting last year's figures (I hasten to add I have all the figures, just inputting them onto a copy of what goes on the online version on that particular Excel spreadsheet). I always hate that WDV bit. No, come to think of it, the bit I HATE is when it tells you how much tax you have to pay.
