zebbidy
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1042142636.pngbroad best yet your upload and ping are pretty bad considering your download speed though
Annie13
This is all I manage to get and only just! Is this the norm across Firth and Mossbank? - I am with BT as well http://www.speedtest.net/result/1045291975.png Anyone else still having problems with their wireless connection, mine just went off again last night around 10.45, even though everything was fine with the hub? Kavi Ugl
Is anyone else's internet a bit slow and sticky tonight?. I'm wondering if it's the cold conditions but maybe that can't be a factor. Hmm.....

Kavi Ugl
Oh well, at least it's not just me. It's taken me two attempts to get on Shetlink and about 2 mins to get to this thread and get this this message posted. It seems to be getting worse too

Smeeth
Mossbank and firth feels like it slipped back into the darkages, ping of 600mshttp://www.speedtest.net/result/1048532776.png And another test on my second linehttp://www.speedtest.net/result/1048540658.png
hairyian
Mossbank and firth feels like it slipped back into the darkages, ping of 600ms You need a handful of salt when using speetest.netIn terms of quality, your also using a lower league ISP.What does the network provider speed test say ? www.speedtester.bt.com
Smeeth
of course, speedtest isn't 100% accurate however I've also run plenty of ping tests and tracer's. The kids games are coming back with similar results, something definitely went wrong between last night and this morning. On the subject of Bt being a lower tier ISP, that's all a matter of opinion I certainly value more flexibility on line throttling and download limits over superior customer services. In an ideal world of course i'd prefer BE broadband or even 02 but I can't get them up here, BT is regrettably the best choice for my area for what I need from it, plusnet a close second but too much line throttling with really poor download limits knock them down in my opinion. I was referring to BTR technical quality. Their customer services are much worse but, hard to believe, there are even worse. Plusnet are a middle range ISP heading down the leagues again. BT saved them before (bought by btwholesale) - I would not be surprised to see them up for sale before too long. More generally, a speedtest.net post says very little. If does not say if the slowness is because you have a long line, or a short line performing poorly. Naming the ISP does often help as the performace can support their reputation, but not necessarily. The BT test bypasses the ISP so will give a better indication of where the problem is.
