the folks running the windmill will eventually make the dough

Totally wrong.

The only people who will ever make any dough out of Shetland are the consultants who carry out all the feasibility studies for the SIC.

What really amazes, after reading some of the history of this failed entity and its shambolic on-going noteriety involving the Miller's, Hodges, the Council and its Officials and to a lesser extent the public of Shetland, is the very strong interest still.

Why? because people feel there are things that need explaining, before moving forward and finalising it once and for all.

Mrs. Miller has tried to separate herself from Judane and she has succeeded within all the rules applicable, but we're in Lerwick, not London.

IMO, Mrs Miller should never have put herself forward as a candidate in the first place, for the 2007 Election while this whole thing was fast becoming a massive problem.

No-one is saying that Mrs Miller is anything but a very hard working and dedicated Councillor.

However, this must be ranked as a serious error of judgement on her part!!

Because of the sysytem, Mrs Miller by being a winning candidate, automatically becomes a Trustee of the Charitable Trust (and as Cluness keeps saying, people know you're a trustee and anyway we've always done it this way and it works just fine).

Mrs Miller was also elected to sit on the board of SLAP, of Zet-Trans and many, many more Council Committees I am sure.

In the Register of Members, Mrs. Miller is shown as being a Consultant for Judane (Shetland) Limited and added 23 August, 2007, a few months after the Election?

Wonder what a consultant does in this case?

Mr. Miller it appears is also a Community Councillor for Bressay.

It is rumoured that an insurance claim is to be lodged against the Council by the Judane Directors, probably Mr. Miller and one J. Miller.

Human nature being what it is, I would always expect threads that contain an element of "scandal" about individuals to get many more more views than threads on more prosaic subjects.

In a small place like Shetland, that is perhaps even more likely, as a large proportion of the population will be related to, know personally or know of the people concerned.

In terms of the amount of views, it is probably worth remembering that anyone interested in a thread may well view that thread several times a day when they see new posts have been made, meaning that the amount of views per day is likely to be many times more than the amount of people viewing the thread per day.

Getting a bit *yawn* in here.

Do use Shetlink for its purpose as an 'online' Shetland community to 'share information, share resources and communicate ideas', but do try and keep the tone of it in check people!

You are anonymous for all intent purposes and this is fine as Shetland is a small place. Shetlink can provide the community with a conduit by which you can 'share information, share resources and communicate ideas'. There are T&C's though .. this "a'int a free-for-all" ... have respect for your fellow man/woman both online and off!

This is a disgrace... (** mod edit - irrelevant personal comments removed **) who owe money to the council..mmmm doubt they will pay any of it back now.... shambles.. the millers should pay back every penny they owe the public purse.. clark complaining of "getting bullied" from councillors.. thats rich since he bullied his way into deleting willie shannons post and threatning dr wills on the phone.. (** mod edit - personal insults removed - your first post, and you're already breaking the T&Cs. Consider this as your first warning **)

Since T&N's apparent excellent offer was rejected back in April, 2009 by Mr Miller (who stated at the time, that the deal was dead in the water as far as he was concerned) one wonders what progress has been made in the 7months since that meeting?

One wonders how rejection of the offer could have been an option in the 1st place?

I think that Cecil Smith and Iris Hawkins wanted a time-limit to avoid any further prevaricating by either side, for whatever reason, legal or otherwise.

Mr Grant was due to report back to the SDT by the 1st October, 2009, but whether this was done is unknown to this writer.

One wonders, if the Directors' of Judane have ever been approached since, to see if further movement is possible by them.

This is assuming that T&N (or others) may still be interested.

Any deal contracted must be in the interests of the people of Shetland through SDT.
