Weather Report: Brae: 7:00pm:

Well the roads are in a brilliant state. No snowfall or drifting over the day but has been quite windy but not too bad.

Mostly clear skies now and overnight but at this time the moon is shining clearly but a few scattered clouds...

The bright spells is to carry on over the weekend and over next week. Snow was reported for us next week but update on the television shows no snowfall for the UK but instead bright spells. The snow is expected to thaw starting Sunday.

Weather Report: Brae: 5.40pm:

I know you don't really need to know this now but as the Forecast has changed i thought i would post a message.

The weather forecast for tonight and over the week shows possible snow showers for Shetland. The odd snow shower is to fall tonight but dying out between the hours of 00:00-0300 and staying clear for the night, but a possible frosty or icy start to Tuesday. Possible snow showers are to carry on falling over Tuesday.

Wednesday is to be very sunny but temperatures reaching about 4 degrees celcius but not much higher. Come Wednesday night, snow showers are to come back for the rest of the night once again.

Over Thursday, it should be a bright start to the morning and probably through the day, a possible light snow shower may come down over some parts of Shetland. Later into Thursday HEAVY snow showers are to return and that staying heavy through the night.

Over Friday it is to be sleety snow showers heading in but a clear cold night for us.

Highest estimated Temperature for the week: 5 degrees celcius.

Lowest estimated Temperature for the week: -1 degrees celcius.

As for the roads: Clear with wet patches with the smallest bit of snow in some places.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 16 Mar 2010 to Tuesday 30 Mar 2010:

It seems likely that there will be a rise in temperatures during this period with temperatures returning to near average across a large swathe of the UK, although below average temperatures could persist across some northern and western areas of the UK. Rainfall is expected to be near average in the north and east, but remaining parts of the UK are expected to see rainfall amounts of either above or well above average. Sunshine amounts are expected to be above average in the north and east with average amounts expected elsewhere in the UK.
