unlinkedstudent
Well, the 10.50am arrival bus to the airport has just arrived (10:55). No flights going out at the moment but morning arrivals have been on time.
Longdog
Mossbank to Brae is OK but a couple of thicker drify bits to slow down for. Gritters and ploughs been out here. They'd gritted last night here too, so not caught out as some have suggested.
haileypuckles
Bigton tae Lerwick, via Sandwick tae drop aff bairns, took an hour an twenty minutes dis morning. Visibility as much o a hinderance as da state o da road. Thinking tae head sooth noo at dennertime, so ony road condition updates for da sooth end would be most appreciated. Twa cars aff da road at da Aithsetter junction earlier. Hope dey're OK.

JustMe
Judging by the condition of the streets and pavements in my part of Lerwick I think it would be sensible for people to avoid all non essential journeys of any distance until conditions improve........and that includes pedestrians. Melman
^^^ Sooth End - Roads not great this morning, a car spun right roond and aff at brig at foot of Clifts, 2 cars hit one another and aff at Aithsetter Junction , peerie yellow coonty van aff at Nort Brae Quarff, and 1 car aff and in among the crash barriers at Gulberwick ..... so not good. Plough and gritter been sooth through about an hour ago, but snow still falling and baring in on main road, making visibility poor. Forecast has snow to ease a bit through mid afternoon I think, but conditions still bad.

bug
From the live webcam http://www.shetland.org/60NTV/index.html# it appears that they're making some headway at clearing the Sumburgh runway down to tarmac and there's two planes on the apron but the link below shows that earlier flights in and out have been cancelled. http://www.europe-airports.com/uk-and-ire/show-flightstats.php?code=LSI
Paul G
Hi, does anyone know if the road from toft to lerwick is clear?
Queenie79
Healthboard issued an email to say police had advised against all travel in shetland and staff that were able to go home without disrupting services should do so. I haven't been out but the road at the head of the weisdale voe certainly looks clear. Must be bad elsewhere afore they're advising no travel. Shame Shetlink can't be accessed at the Gilbert Bain people won't be able to check the valuable road reports posted here.
