JaxandTim
I'm travelling over to Aberdeen next week and need a B&B for a 2 night stay. Any recommendations would be gratefully received I'm a non-driver so need a central location. Thank you, Jackie
gobby
http://aberdeencitycentrehotel.co.uk my daughter stayed here before xmas and said it was brill right in the city centre
Spinner72
If the Travelodge doesnt have any offers on (you can get rooms for £19 per night if you're lucky, and its as central as you'll get) then I look to Active Hotels now. Lets you filter by proximity and price, with the Carmelite coming out on top most of the time. Cracking place newly refurbished and very good rates. If per person rather than per room suits you, then the guest houses on Crown St and Springbank Terrace are often good for £25 per night. Nicols being my personal reccomendation. norsemanswife
unless the travelodge has upped its game i would give it a miss, try the new one across from the ferry its a jury inn
owdwife
Travelodges are usually good but my experience of the one in Aberdeen left a lot to be desired and as I didnt book in advance (got stuck in Aberdeen) it cost me £68 On the other hand the Brentwood does special rates for Shetlanders and is very clean and friendly and centralThe Caledonian used to do Shetland rates too but don't know if they still do

piggywiggie
DONT go to travellodge in Aberdeen. There was blood stains all over the bathroom and sticky carpet when we stayed there. DISCUSTING! I came home with a rash all over my neck and chest! We complained too, got nothing back not even an appology! We were going to go somewhere else but couldnt as it was Xfactor weekend and everything was fully booked! JaxandTim
Oh God that sounds awful I've had bad dealings with Travelodge in the past and decided I won't stay with them again. We stayed at the Aberdeen City Centre Hotel (thank you gobby) would highly recommend it
Henry
I think this is fairly typical of Travelodge. We had a bad experience in one in Edinburgh last month but after several complaints had all our money refunded.
Fifi
I'm at the Holiday Inn Express on Chapel St. Central, just off Union St. The god awful Travelodge (they warn about noise & stag parties on their website) & the Premier Travel Inn were going to be £70+ - no breakfast. This is miles better & £55 incl breakfast. Free wi-fi. (30 mins per day or pay for more. )
Girzie
We often stay at the Express in Chapel St but did spend one night at the Premier Inn on West North Street last week courtesy of Loganair who picked up the tab for dinner, bed and breakfast. It was quiet and peaceful - and they paid. What could be better.
JaxandTim
I'll keep the express in mind for next time Girzie, Flybe paid for us to stay in a hotel last year..... Woohooooo
tojo
Ok, I assume you have been to Aberdeen by now, but for future reference I would recommend the Citywharf Apartments. Clean, secure, has your own kitchen, bathroom, livingroom and bedroom. Well worth the £80!!
mee_auu
http://www.dycehotels.com/ is another suggestion for Aberdeen, and it's great especially if you want to be closer to the airport.
