Not sure how to put this gently, so I won't try, but....You're a tad late, this year's one was held over eight months ago.

 

Maybe you should start planning on going to next year's one instead.

Lerwick is the one which gets most of the publicity, I think there was even a song which featured it. I have a shaky recollection of the words but one line said something like - we don't burn our galley in a playpark

 

Perhaps some fine caring person could furnish us the full words to the song

That song's having a pop at the Lerwick Up Helly Aa for being inferior as they don't burn their galley in the sea. Would I be right in thinking the song is from Northmavine? The Big Bannock song perhaps?
