Dere's a fine Shaetlant expression noo.

 

"Hit's a sad day we left da croft"

 

We da mair recent addition:

 

"An hit'll be a sadder day we aa end up back dere"

A peerie grain
= "A very small amount" is I think a commonly used expression throughout Shetland.

 

A peerie little
= " A short space of time" is in my experience much more localised.

In fact if I heard someone say that I would immediately conclude they were from Sandwick.
