Suzanna
To be honest, I've eaten at the CO-OP cafe and found it, well...Ok, but the Harbour Cafe is more central and very reasonable, very clean, and you get a good meal and a great cup of tea, what more could you want. I took my folks to both when they were here for a visit and the Harbour Cafe won hands down.
tojo
Is the Harbour Cafe the one you come out stinking of chip fat after?

tojo
I've just found after going there for a roll and cuppa, we smell a greasy stench on our clothes after - saying that it may be different now, not been for a while. They did chips then as ordered chips n cheese for the kids.
MJ
Is the Harbour Cafe the one you come out stinking of chip fat after? Think it's been a while since you've been in, new owner, much cleaner. Even serve half decent REAL coffee (a bit weak by my standards, but straight off the boat it's the elixir of life)
tojo
Yes been about a year or so, stopped going for the smelly reason, will try it again as it was good food and child friendly + reasonable prices.
piggywiggie
the harbour cafe still smells but its just a cafe smell it no longer clings to your clothes. It is much brighter and fresher these days and usually full!
George.
The Harbour Café stops starvation and at a reasonable price too
suuusssiiieee
Piggywiggie iv'e never heard such tosh, you tell me what cafe doesn't smell of cooking? Harbour cafe is ok, i take it when you cook in your kitchen smells don't occur also? If smells are a problem i would suggest try the great wall or any other chinese/takeaway establishment downwind....horrible does not begin to describe it! DizzyKipper
Might try going in there again. Last time it was dirty and horrible. If it's changed it might be worth having another look.
Malcolm
Harber cafe is ok if you are skinny, the tables and benches are so close that a friend who aint exactly fat had to breathe in to get seated. Not knocking their food (would be hard to beat) but comfort isnt their forte.

I am "exactly fat" or certainly bigger than you and I manage to sit at a Harbour Cafe table without problems.
