  1. Get ready to spot yourselves!
  2. Yes, thank you, now merged. The Classifieds section (and a bunch of other stuff) is currently undergoing a major revamp. Please bear with us while the transition takes place...it could be some time.
  3. Audacity can attempt to split the track automatically:- Audacity Wiki
  4. Just imagine the new multi-storey carpark the council would need to build to house all these council vehicles overnight. Underfloor heating, CCTV, etc etc....
  5. Guessing that the sky isn't grey either. That would be the clouds.
  6. Hmm yes. I really do think that all airport staff from now on should only be hired if they have at least a diploma or higher qualification in clairvoyance. I have seen these people working and (after risking life and limb to get to work) they then have to juggle passengers and flights around as best as they can to keep the majority happy. Couple this with continual phone calls of, "Will my flight get in tomorrow?", and you can get a pretty stressed out member of staff. They then know that they will be working late, and will have to drive home, risking life and limb in treacherous conditions that are even worse than the poor passengers had to endure. Nobody likes being stuck in an airport, least of all the staff. P.S. Ramblings about Flybe are better in one of the Flybe Threads.
  7. To find out what is happening it might be worth taking a look at the New Chief Exec thread. You might just find the answer to your question. Merging soon...
  8. Aha! That's what I saw! Nipped down to the postbox to fetch the paper and saw the brightest Shooting Star that I have ever seen, looks like it was the Endeavour judging by the time and direction. ISS-Endeavour 08:47:22 pm WSW 08:49:42 51° -3.4 (very bright)
  9. You could be right there Njugle. "The Lerwick Up Helly Aa" could do with a makeover, for instance:- Keep it at da Hillhead:- "A Hilly Cartwheel Puke" Move it nearer the seaside:- "A Purely Ethical Whelk" More Musical:- "A Patchy Ukelele Whirl" Educational:- "A Yuk Ill Teacher Whelp" Religious:- "Replaace Hell With Yuk" Rural:- "Create a Yell Hulk Whip" Questionable Caribou:- "Why Create a Uphill Elk" Medicinal:- "A Weekly Hurt Pill Ache" The "Science Squad" stay out late:- "A Helical Phew Yet Lurk" Strangely Country:- "A Phallic Turkey Wheel" Highlands & Islands Enterprise discover a damp computer technician:- "HIE Wetly Pull a Hacker" I could go on...
  10. As I am sure I made a comment about this earlier in this thread, there is no reason why the BBC (now that digital is going to be compulsory) can not encrypt the signal. Anybody who wants to receive the BBC channels can then get a smartcard or similar new-fangled contraption to receive them. That way, if you never watch BBC television then you don't have to pay the tax for it. Needless to say I am undoubtedly overlooking some archaic law that says you must pay the licence whether you want to or not because it is part of the British Constitution but why should it be compulsory? I don't suppose the Beeb will be exerting their energy into giving people an option when they receive a regular payment from every household that has a television. Anybody fancy getting together to market a Freeview box that blocks the Beeb channels? Licence-free.
  11. I have split and merged the 'TV License' posts to the 'TV License' thread. Back on topic...
  12. - Saturday night - COD4 MW on the go - Waikato Draught beer
  13. Having a look at what your router has to say could narrow down the problem. If it is connecting to the exchange at a decent rate with little noise then it could be a problem with the PC itself.
  14. Could be worth checking things like your filters or phone cables in case you have a dodgy one.
  15. The reason you are seeing so many people attempting to connect to your computer is because that is exactly what they are doing. You are also doing it to other people. The nature of torrents is that everybody shares the file that they are downloading. So while you are downloading from somebody else, somebody else is downloading from you. Make sense? Didn't realise there was such a following for 'No More Herring for the Countess' though.
  16. I believe that Wabbit has a very good pic of an otter catching its dinner as well... Unfortunately the only times that I have spotted otters I have never had my camera within reach before they disappeared again.
  17. Funnily enough, just finished Exit Music by Ian Rankin. Wasn't aware of 'The Complaints', I'll maybe see if I can find it somewhere.
  18. In that case, I'll lock this for now and probably remove it at some stage.
  19. I should probably point out that the original post was 4 years ago! It probably is about time we had an update though. Did the drinking stop? Did the wife walk?
  20. Shetland News have a pic of a 7 foot snowman. Good effort to those involved. I believe that a snowman was spotted at Sumburgh Airport as well...
  21. Considering he was sleeping at da hoose dey wir aboot tae invade den I tink I did him a favour!! Indeed, well done tae Rae, fae the soonds o' things everything went really weel. Looking forward tae hearin' da stories when reality keeks back in.
  22. Two days to go! The support bunch are quite good too.
  23. Errm it does. You can choose from the Wifi model or the Wifi+3G model. You can think of the Ipad wifi as a stretched iTouch and the Ipad wifi+3g as a stretched iPhone. It runs the iPhone software as well.
