Sha
Hello everyone, I live in England, in Huddersfield (West Yorkshire) to be precise, 26 years, old, Half-German, Half-French (complicated). And well I'm coming to the Shetland Islands for the 2010 Up-Helly-Aa. I was hoping to get to meet some people here first. I'm not coming on my own but it would be so much nicer to be introduced to the island by someone who lives there.

Sha
Thanks. Do I need to wait for approval by a Mod or do you think I can start posting just like that? (Which I have already done)

Longdog
Hi, been scouting around here for a few weeks and made some posts and thought may be I should comeback here to introduce myself. I'm Kevin and my wife, Clare and 2 year old lad Beren, oh and our whippet lurcher Fern, will be moving up to Sheltand on 11th December, be there on the 12th. Not sure exactly where we'll be living yet, hopefully find out very soon otherwise it'll be the back of my van We're coming up from England, top end of the North Yorkshire Coast near Saltburn. I love being outdoors, have been doing some kayak fishing down here for cod, ling and mackeral, fly radio controlled gliders, play didgeridoo, dumbek and mess around with whistles and native american flutes. I reckon I'll be leaving my chainsaw and wood working tools in my mam's garage for some time unless there's a good supply of drift wood. Be odd being in a tree-less place, there's woods every where where we live now Plan to get back learning the guitar over the long winter (my wife plays) or may be even fiddle. See youse soon, Kev panorama of where I am nowhttp://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll263/longdog_bucket/grovepanorama.jpg http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll263/longdog_bucket/thedoubles.jpgGreenland style paddle I madehttp://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll263/longdog_bucket/IMG_0040.jpg
