MuckleJoannie
I got a piece of mail today from Brogan Fuels today. I thought they might be a new supplier in Shetland. Wrong! http://maciverblog.co.uk/2011/10/13/were-being-conned-brogan-fuels-is-not-a-new-company-its-just-the-same-bunch-of-irish-conmen/ Some very intelligent people were taken in by the advert on page 13 of the Gazette today announcing that Brogan Fuels were “delighted†to announce they are NOW delivering in our area. These well-paid and supposedly clever individuals have been smugly welcoming “the new competitive scenario†through the return of Brogan without stopping to think who owns it nowadays. You are being conned, numpties. This is just Scottish Fuels using one of its 40-plus alternative brands to bamboozle people. Yes, it is the same conmen and their island gophers who have realised the name Scottish Fuels is now toxic here.
Para Handy
Hi, there is a new website being created to inform of the costs of fuel at the different retail outlets within Shetland so Shetlanders can get the best deal on their Petrol or Diesel. This is a privately run, non-profit scheme, and we require the assistance of the general public of Shetland to make it worthwhile and accurate. We would like those of you who purchase your fuel at the different outlets to email us, pm us, or complete a form on the website so we can publish the prices for your information. We are getting a dedicated text number so you can text us the information also, which we think would be handier. If you would like to participate in the scheme, or you would just like to find out where in Shetland sells the cheapest and dearest fuel costs, the website address is: www.wix.com/shetlandinfo/shetland our email address is: shetlandinfo@gmail.com Thanks for viewing This website does not display anything

stilldellin
Surprised how little interest in this thread especially with everybody bleating about the price. Must be a message there !
Frances144
I think folk have been ripped off for so long (though dead impressed with Mary's) that they have run out of ways to do anything. The folk who represent us are certainly not succeeding.
Paul G
How is it that Mary can sell her fuel much cheaper than the rest of Shetland?

bug
How is it that Mary can sell her fuel much cheaper than the rest of Shetland? Could it perhaps be that she bought her stock way before the latest price hike and therefore is still making the required mark up due to a low turnover compared to other outlets who have "newer" stocks in at the higher wholesale price. How often does she get a bulk delivery?
paulb
no thats not it she is always cheaper.
Goose
Might be worth getting someone with a blue badge to take our cars to Mary's to fuel up
Fifi
We commute 550 miles a week, so get fuel at Leasks once a week.Your local shop has petrol & diesel which is usually the same price as Lerwick.
